Who's developing it? Is it the same guys who made Battle For Bikini Bottom?
It's coming. Bland gameplay is easier to disguise with flashy cinematics, but surely people will eventually wake up to the fact that the market is getting flooded with 'press x to win' games. Luckily there are still a few gems I'm looking forward to.
I bought it on Steam but haven't played it yet. It reminds me of GTA1
Buddy system for sure, there's plenty of scope for improvement there. Yes the weapon jamming was annoying but the concept could be developed so you could make it a non-issue.
The minimalist UI/HUD and absence of hand holding that creates real immersion. The fire mechanics and the ways in which that could be exploited with wind etc. The brutal survival gameplay coupled with good enemy AI, less QTE's. Agreed malaria was unnecessary. There are other things I'm sure I'm m...
How about bringing back some of the gameplay elements from Far Cry 2? So much potential.
If it has great story with bad gameplay, then it's not really a 'game'. Just watch a movie.
This guy gets it, although I enjoyed MW2
I haven't played FFXII but hear mixed things about it, ranging from 'it's the best in the series' to 'it's second worst behind XIII'. What exactly makes it better than the others?
I hope the gameplay is similar to Rogue Squadron with its flight combat mechanics. Those kind of games don't really exist anymore, which is a shame.
The fundamental point is that gameplay is always more important than story when it comes to video games. ALWAYS.
hopefully that means they just release the game once, then any additional content can be dlc instead of having to buy a new game (i.e. SFIV to Super SFIV).
The game was revealed ages ago. At one point it had a tentative release date for late 2011. Peoples expectations for announcements are born from that.
So either Square Enix is completely blind to how their fanbase has been responding to their actions over the last decade, or they actually get a sick kick out of pissing off their fanbase.
Either answer is disturbing.
I don't even want a FF7 remake, but the way they went about this announcement was just spiteful. If I had been in the crowd I would have been booing.
Wasn't FF7 already on PSN on PS3?
Makes sense that a remake be released on the most current platform, if the intention of the remake is to preserve a classic.
I was cringing at all of those 'press x to make your character kick that guys arse' moments. Just give us a melee button and let it happen in real time ffs.
Bring back some of the Far Cry 2 gameplay elements. That game had moments of greatness. And please try having an interesting story.
Cool thanks. I'm looking to push further into digital art as a hobby
No Dragon's Dogma
Agreed with Volkama. TLOU is perfect as a self contained story, and I'm pretty sure that's what ND intended.
Besides, ND doesn't exactly follow a predictable development philosophy. Uncharted is the first franchise they're continuing across two generations (and also the first to not get some kind of vehicle based spinoff game).
I'd be more interested in a new ip from ND than a TLOU2. Just let them flex their creativity. They must have heaps of different co...
Are my expectations unrealistic?
Unless there is some complication with licensing on third party games, why not just make every Nintendo developed game available?
Just put it all out there.
I don't think trickling out the releases is going to make a significant difference to profits.
