This looks fantastic but, with games like: Rime, The Witness, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Transistor, No Mans Sky etc. possibly hitting this year, it has some pretty stiff competition.
Absolutely.
Tron (the original) was also a great movie, although not directly based on a specific game. I thought it was worth mentioning as it's a movie that actually inspired a number of video games too.
Nice read.
Are there any movies based on games that are watchable? Off the top of my head I think the Prince of Persia movie wasn't completely unbearable. Also, although I'm not a fan myself, the Resident Evil movies seem to have a following.
Let's face it; until the themes, characters, plot-line, voice acting and animation mature in games, we're never gonna see Martin Scorsese's adaptation of Assassins Creed :)
I'm s...
Yeah lol, The Order: 1886 is actually very high on my personal most anticipated list. All I was implying is that, recently, hype levels have grew dramatically.
Not sure exactly what I said to rustle so many jimmies, maybe people have a problem with devs doing cameos in their own games? :P
Understandable :) It looks pretty awesome.
I did say "relatively" right, as in compared to the hype level now, people may be misunderstanding my comment :/
The Order had relatively little hype behind it, then, after a behind closed doors showing and reveal of embargo dates...
BOOM!
Most anticipated game of all time :D
I love this industry!
Andrea Pessino should be in this game, he would make a pretty beastly boss.
Tash-FX sounds better to me :)
Mmmmmm Bungie flavour
lol she's either an obvious shill or she has a crush on Mr Spencer :D
Very nice, was starting to think this wouldn't hit at all this year since we've seen very little of the actual game. The screenshots look incredible though and apparently from an old build!
I seem remember Geoff Keighley saying that they just missed out on a trailer for VGX because it wasn't quite ready. They MUST be ready by now so just show us... pwitty pweez?
Sony is investing heavily in their first parties, hopefully they get the working space they need to create some fantastic games.
So it must be some kind of terrible AA implementation that makes the textures look blurry on Xb1?
What part has you confused? The Xb1 isn't selling as much as it should be in the UK but even so you'd think people would have bought all the day one editions by now.
It's a little shocking to me is all, especially considering that it looks like MS are handing over the UK market to Sony, which has been an Xbox stronghold this past gen.
Well it's all subjective I guess. Personally I think MGS will be hindered by being multi platform and cross gen. I do think it looks pretty good though as all MG games do.
Oh definitely but it deserves more in my eyes :)
I love the style of this game: the camera angles, subdued colours, TV style filters. If the actual game comes out looking like this I will be very pleased.
Honestly I can't see them hitting the 60fps target but other games like Need for Speed can get away with it, so why not this game. I just hope the added effects such as dynamic lighting and particles (did you see those leaves blowing around!?) are worth the trade off.
Yeah there's that too, MS are asking us to pay comparatively more than their US customers but get less features in return.
Until they can get to a reasonable price point that reflects a true value of the system they will continue to throw away this market.
This is really looking like the first game that truly kicks off that next-gen feeling. It was Gears of War for me last gen, I'm hoping it's inFamous this time as I'm a big fan of the previous games and feel they were terribly underrated and overlooked.
Well this is shocking, I know it's not doing as well as PS4 here in the UK but you'd think they'd have burned through the day one stock by now.
I blame the price disparity, how can a $500 console sell for more than the PS3 did at launch here? The value just isn't there for UK gamers yet, well personally speaking at least.
And thus the Naughty Gods did descend from the stars to bestow upon humanity the knowledge and wisdom of the ages.
:P
