Well, it's not everyday I see a short trailer and instantly want to buy the game. But, I want to buy the game.
Prey is a fantastic game.
As of now, no.
The fans (not all - there's always diversity in humans) have grown used to paying for just about everything. Each time the pricing is a little higher, so the fans constantly say "it's a bit pricey but, reasonable." So it keeps increasing, and the method for how you access the content also changes. Season Pass. Pre-existing title. Pre-order. So on.
Side Note: It's $40 Canadian.
Naturally, they think its fair. They've grown accusto...
Ultimately if you deem it a good value, then that's good. However, as a fellow Canadian, $40 for 8 remastered maps, is ridiculous (in regards to how I see its value).
*shrug*
If Destiny didn't teach them a lesson, nothing will.
Lovely.
@optimus
Do not confuse my opinion with what you should do. I talked about how I, personally, become skeptical. While I confused in this case the promotion with the cost of the game itself, I have seen the game go on multiple sales. So, I, personally, take a step back (because it's not a game that compelled me in the first place to get it at full retail value). If it was something I was interested in and was waiting for a price drop on, sure - awesome.
And what makes it worse is, the speed in which the game has fallen in terms of price makes me even less inclined to play the game. It tells me that they have zero confidence in what they developed, and that makes me skeptical on it even being worth the low price.
I love discounts, but I think the sweet spot is around $25-45.
I have 3. There's a few I came close to obtaining but when the search for the trophy outweighs my personal enjoyment of the game I love, I stop. There's a limit before it ruins the experience.
Still, hats off to him. That's honestly hard to fathom, let alone achieve, yet he made it a reality.
It would be interesting to see where everyone stacks up, globally/regionally. Be it in a tier system or the like. Perhaps certain tiers grant certain r...
Rewards being:
- Dominance (claiming territory over something / destroying an almost non-existent threat)
- Recognition (news trickles out - be it negative or positive, it does make you think of Prey)
- $$$ (there's always money, somewhere, for whatever reason, somehow).
But yes, they did roll over. I personally think they gave in too easily. However they decided it wasn't worth the battle, which leads me to believe that they either knew i...
"Something like a trademark opposition can be long and depending on how far someone wants to fight it can be very expensive."
And Zenimax knows this, so they pounce and reap the rewards. Disgusting really.
You have some incredible intel.
Personally, I pre-order if the game intrigues me after doing my share of research (In this instance, Prey intrigues me - I'd like to own it as soon as possible - get the pre-order goodies). Once the game is released, I, as the consumer/gamer, digest what's been delivered. If the game is broken, a mess, horrid - I take that as a lesson, and I don't pre-order a game from that series, ever again.
Do I think having no reviews prior to a games release, as anti-consum...
There's a lot they could do with Animal Crossing.
- Villages with 14+ inhabitants, so you feel like it's busy but it's not overwhelming.
- Designing the layout of the land, or being able to edit a pre-existing spot, would be incredible. They could be Mayor decisions, such as redirecting a river, designating zones for house development, inserting interesting exhibits or cool little places like a waterpark, so forth.
Hopefully the new edition t...
It'll depend on how it's implemented. But hey, clearly people like to get outraged. If the game was out and it was clearly just a checklist, then criticism and complaints make sense. But right now? It's ridiculous - since we don't know what/how they are going about it.
Seems promising. Only thing I didn't like were the attack sounds, otherwise, impressive trailer.
It's an okay game. 6-7 in terms of score.
While the reviews may have been harsh, they weren't inaccurate. I played 20-30 hours, and did enjoy it, but after putting the game down for a bit I feel zero reason to return. I'm not compelled because quiet frankly, the story + characters don't grip me whatsoever. I was enjoying the environments for the 20-30 hours, but environments don't make up for an average plot.
Huh.
Congrats. I'll eventually obtain one, if there's enough games that interest me.
