Well like, that's just your opinion man.

So you'd rather the poison be something that changes the entire formula of a game from the ground up, and morphs into its skeleton? Because, paying more for the game in a full package isn't enticing enough?

What on earth..

It pains me, how true this is. We will also see:

"Battlefront 2 is a great game despite controversy - here's why."
"Star Wars, better than it's ever been before."
"Back to form."

And on and on.

There's too many games to play. The last thing Il do is put my money towards one that's riddled with disgusting microtransactions.

That would certainly garner some people to buy a Switch.

Any positive change, will have to come from the collective voice of the gaming community. As long as it remains divided or not entirely concerned, then these loot boxes aren't going anywhere.

It sucks, but it's how it is. Government is the last thing you want involved.

@Novus

Well said.

Omg you are so clever. Thank you. That solves everything, from the potential fallout of where this leads the industry to the fact that it's easily accessible and even enticing in the late game for people to use them.

Sheesh. If only more of us just, played the game.

Sam: "Go on. Now! Throw the loot box in the fire!"
Frodo: *Evil grin*
Sam: "What are you waiting for? Just let it go!"
Frodo: "The loot box is mine!" // Turns out Frodo is WB.

Plot twist. $5 if you'd like to know more. It's your choice to pay me.

Lol. Aw. That's cute.

This read like a suspense novel.

I loved it. Good story. Plot 29.

Comparatively speaking (and I agree with you) if Casinos were to give those who spend money, say, a drink for their gamble - for each gamble - if they lost out on what they wanted, they'd (Gambling, and this practice) be the same thing. Since the quality of return needn't be anything worthwhile, just has to be something.

A thin line. Yuck.

This, folks, is what we call walking a thin line. While the ESRB made a logical point (comparing it to cards) - they are clearly aware of how close the current mechanics are to being an undeniable gambling mechanism. It's an example of a broken system (equivalent to how a child can pick up an M rated game through his/her friend/family/etc - it's wrong, but it happens).

It's unfortunate, but also not surprising. If loot boxes are to ever be pulled back/removed, i...

Outside the United States, games have already reached that nearing threshold. Canada (where I am located) is paying $79.99 (prior to tax) for a base version of a game. The cost difference between the United States and Canada, doesn't even match the rate of inflation. It's just higher here - because reasons.

So while I do commend the logic behind gamers trying to preserve the $60 price tag. Reality is, with DLC's, Season Passes's, Dlc not included in the Seas...

*Shakes hand*

We shall agree to disagree. And thank you, I appreciate the sentiment.

Happy gaming.

I know this isn't Battlefront 2. I'm not crying wolf. This is a legitimate issue and I'm choosing to kick the wolf in the face while it feeds on your pulse. This IS WHEN gamers should stand up. You're literally accepting its existence because the game is fun. I, not once, made any statement about the games enjoyability.

Give someone an inch, they'll take a mile.

Gamers do stop gaming. People who are fed up, wa...

@LordJamar

I'll admit. That answer made me grin.

But for the sake of continuing this analogy (I know, it's kind of mind numbing). I'd ask you this. Why should you have to waste space in your garage with a slot machine you never wanted/asked for/or need in the first place?

In real life, people walk into a casino to gamble. That's the purpose.
Gaming, isn't a casino - the problem is it's moving in that di...

@Morganfell

I've observed your posts on this topic closely. You spend more time insulting the opposition than you do defending the inclusion of microtransactions (of which you have little to no defense). The more you continue to vaguely refer to "other gamers on other forums" the more I shake my head. You do realize the level of hypocrisy in that right? You label others as following a trend, while you yourself are actually using what other people do as a backi...

Hahaha. Well I just got my laugh of the morning. That's a good quote.

If someone places a slot machine inside your house. You're more likely to try it out.

Its inclusion is overbearing. It exists to solely feed on impulse decisions.
