I'm aware of the mandatory PR push and EA is pushing hard. But again, the game is going to sell. But as @PapaBop pointed out, this negativity surrounding the practices they are trying to pull - puts them in the crosshair of not only gamers, but the stockholders. Disney is certainly eyeing this closely.

This "outrage" does in fact, change something. But before I get into that obvious point I will address the fact that those who are pointing out the issues within the game, can/have purchased loot boxes. But those are generally cosmetic.
Now moving into this "outrage" that people are "bitching" about.
1. This outrage has already changed something. A hero can be unlocked at 75% lower than what it was initially.
Facts do not equate to being clickbait. Clickbait is blowing something out of proportion and/or deliberately leaving breadcrumbs in order to gain attention.
The title to this opinion piece/review doesn't fall under that category. And when you actually take the time to read what's written, it's clear that the writer spent the necessary time to research/explain their point of view.
And to reiterate. This is also not politically motivated.

It's impossible to know if someone was originally going to buy the game or not. I for one know of numerous people who were interested but then taken back by how the game was structured. But who I know means nothing in context because it's just words - similar to you knowing someone who obtained Darth Vader in 2 hours.

The MT's/Loot boxes in Battlefront 2 are nothing like what Overwatch has/does. Overwatch is fairly generous with their progression system and the loot boxes are cosmetic. They also didn't charge full retail price upon their release date. Battlefront 2 however integrates their progression system with MT's to its very fiber for a full priced AAA game.

Games have gotten more expensive but the profits have also skyrocketed and broke records (it varies of course, but those who we would expect to request more money from, generally end up charging less - putting the entire 'profit crisis' into perspective).
DLC was and can be a fantastic prospect, if it's priced properly, not torn from the base game and adds a lot of additional longevity (like an expansion) to the game. The problem is that just about hardly no one...
I agree on the notion of DICE being the right fit. However people won't stop "crying" until something is actually done to remedy the situation.

So he is an attention seeker who formed a platformed based on lies, trolling and using EA's already toxic name in the process. Some might call it genius. I think it's pathetic.
This person is clearly lonely and now he's enjoyed some undeserved fame while making light of an otherwise tense subject. Did he even receive death threats? Probably not. And if he did - it's not like it even bothered him since it's apparent it's all a game in his eyes.
In doing so they also subtly (and without speaking about it - until being caught) reduced the credit reward for completing the campaign. So what was initially 20,000 credits was slashed into 5,000.
They just can't have people easily obtaining a hero... No. We need to grind and be "proud" of our accomplishments. *Cough* While others throw money at it and destroy others in the multiplayer aspect.

It's painful when the community has incredible theories and points out almost obvious ideas - that were never implemented. As far as Final Fantasy's go, this one has been an odd concoction.
I love the game but, it's like loving someone you can't help but judge. lol
Hm, true. But again, I'm simply commenting on this trailer from the perspective of someone who watched the movie and then played the game. Not once was he mentioned or seen in the base game. So hearing him speak about the Kingsglaive while the trailer shows scenes from the movie - just throws me off a little.
I'm looking forward to playing the multiplayer aspect.

As far as trailers go this was... well it was reusing assets from the Kingsglaive movie, so for me personally it kind of threw me off guard. It's nice that he's returning since his absence in the game made zero sense. But this trailer doesn't actually make me feel like we're in the 10 year gap. It makes me feel like he's speaking from the perspective of his time during the movie.
