This has nothing to do with Xbox Live it is a streaming rental service. It doesn't bring any value to the consumer when it is cheaper to buy the game outright.

Instead of trying to keep customers in the stores they should be trying to attract customers to the stores to begin with by having better deals on games. Many people check prices online and why would you go to Gamestop and buy a game when you can get it anywhere else for cheaper and even have it shipped to your door or downloaded to your console.
People aren't getting tired of gaming otherwise we wouldn't be watching videos and reading news articles about gaming. The problem is the games that have been releasing recently have had no soul or personality to them. They are boring generic games pumped out and hyped up, and then most people do not have fun playing them. Whether a game is AAA or indie, the point of playing is to have fun. You never hear people complain about games developed by excellent developers like Rockstar Game...
