Movies are not what benefit from HD , it's shows like this. The amount of extras for shows like this that can be added with HD and blu-ray is awesome.
Seeing that the BBC is going forward with releasing shows like this in HD has convinced me to purchase an HD player.
and judging from your comments you might want to consider watching a few episodes and educating yourself. The BBC produces some of the best shows out there, especially nature and documentary shows.
These are the types of things that will win this war of formats, not movies. It will be TV show seasons and documentaries.
Why does anyone even report games to movies? I know it's part of the industry but since when has a game to movie EVER been good? If anything we should boycott them so they actually start producing good game/movies.
tehcellownu - you obviously haven't even looked at the 360's lineup or are you just a blind fanboy? The 360 has way more than FPS games, clearly you haven't put much thought into that comment. The PS3 has just as many FPS games as the 360 does.
Kojima has already said that MGS4 could be on the 360 but they went with PS3 exclusive. Sony is paying huge bucks just to keep MGS4 exclusive (or so the rumour goes).
No game is going to absolutely require blu-ray for a long time or excee...
The PS3 will not be the 'be all end all' that fanboys think it is, but it certainly will be a good system once some of the AAA titles come out. That is of course saying that FF13 and MSG4 don't go to the 360.
Those two going multi have the potential to bury the PS3 in terms of sales.

Graw2 is short, there is more than enough space for the extra maps on a DVD9.
I'm not knocking sony here, graw2 should have been DLC not a full release, it's a very short game; roughly 6 hours to beat it.
MP is where it becomes a different game and 360 users will get all those maps eventually via DLC.
so then why do all multi platform games look better on the 360...hmmmm.....It's nice to compare the two but rather than ignore facts they should do some research.

I'm only speaking the truth, have you multiple experiences with several brands of laptops ? if you don't you shouldn't even be speaking your opinion. You may very well be happy with your sony laptop but unless you've tried at least 3 other brands you have nothing to base your opinion on.

Like I said, you can buy a reasonably cheap Acer laptop for $700, then buy a portable blu-ray burner for $600 instead of spending almost $3000 on one of Sony's garbage Vaios.

DO NOT BUY THEM, I work for a computer distributor business and they have one of the highest RMA rates out of all the laptop distributors. You are better off buying a reasonably cheap Acer laptop.

However Blu-ray will be on it's way out soon too when digital distribution is implented. Heck it already is, it's just not yet widely available.

The 360 can adopt the blu-ray just as quickly as it did the HD DVD drive. It just made more sense to adopt the format that was not of their competition and promote that from day one.

Sony has never made a successful format, and blu ray is not going to be any different.
Games do not need blu-ray discs yet, ask any developer that. Developers cannot dedicate the time and money to make games that need the space the blu ray provides. Look at the first couple blu ray games, with proper compression blu ray would not even have been needed.

Wake up and smell the coffee fanboys, Sony cannot afford to drop the price they are losing ALOT of money already, and dropping the price would increase that amount tenfold.
Besides, what are people going to buy it for now? ROFM and Motostorm are not system sellers, and the price tag isn't going to change anything.
