I hate 'secret' Achievements.
CDs have usually done this after a long exposure of being in unfavorable conditions. (ie. HEED THE GOD DAMN WARNINGS ON THE CASE!)
Plus, is this disc being kept in it's case whenever not being used?
Heat will also cause any disc to do this.
Yes the price is ridiculous, but how has that ever stopped sony products from being successful?
The PS3 will not be AS successful as Sony would have hoped but it will still be a well accepted console.
I don't understand, why release this for the PSP where nobody is going to give a crap?
It's not like it is a remake, this is a prequel and an important part of the GOW lore that fans will want to know. Releasing it on the PSP is almost pointless because nobody will play it.
Agreed, I'm planning on getting all the multis for my 360.
That being said the PS3 has a more powerful exclusive line-up than the xbox. Also IMO the 360 is more online/multiplayer oriented (hence the multitude of FPS games), and the PS3 is aimed for more of a pure gaming experience.
Lets not be too hasty here, at least xbots haven't formed the 'xbox defense force'.
Sony fanboys are by far the worst because they not only defend the playstations to the death they'd push their own mothers in front of a bullet if it meant saving a playstation.

The GOW II promo I can understand but being up in arms over a landmark in a video game? Did it ever occur to them that it might result in a little tourism?
Maybe it's because they took the hardware from a mediocre last gen console and simply just added motion control.
It's a great gimmick for awhile, but how long until there are so many rehashes and crap games that people start to go "wait a second, this isn't worth $200!".
I have to agree, this time around it goes to sony; they've obviously learned after years of crashing consoles that they have to release a machine with superior build quality. Unfortunately they released it a year later than the competition and included a drive that caused the price to go through the roof outside the US and Japan.
Both systems generate an obscene amount of heat, and the PS3 has only been out since fall.
Eventually PS3s are going to start failing too...
You all whine about them dying but the recommended playing time in the manual is alot lower than previous systems (ie. xbox, ps2, gamecube).
They need add-on fans, because clearly the ones inside are not sufficient enough. It's just like a high end gaming PC, you need to have temp control, bigger fans, etc.
