"Just wait til" arguments have become annoying from the fanboys in the Sony camp. It looks like GOW3 will be the next target for them and you (I'm sorry but unlike Gamestop I seriously doubt we see Kratos til Mar 2010).
However, are you that shallow to call MGS4 a "run of the mill shooter w/ superflUous stealth added"? A sequel from a AAA franchise that by all accounts finishes the MGS arc, ties up all loose ends (supposedly), takes between 20-25 hrs to comp...
720 will launch in fall 2010 w/ around 3 gig of system RAM, a BR drive, WiFi, and a 200gig HDD for US$499. MS will offer two SKUs - the cheaper ($100 less) being a 40 gig HDD w/o HDMI cable and BR remote. MS will continue to support 360 til 2012 when PS4 launches. Sounds prudent - a 5 year technology window with a 7 year product support model.
PS4 will be based off the new cell design (IBM supercomputer) but 1/2 the system RAM (currently new chip is 5x faster than ps3 w/ 8gig R...
but man was that a terrible demo or what? I'm usually not a graphic whore but that was muddy. It was somewhere between Soldier of Fortune and Kane & Lynch bad. And the voice acting? I've seen better scripting from a Dynasty Warriors game. Guess I'm getting those "noobie" jitters like Shane. Maybe I'll frag a few promised hand rebels and go "jerk off". The silver lining to all this, Timesplitters4 will be a 2nd generation ps3 game.
the Orange Box-esque loading screens (even GT had a comparison vid lol - GT?) for the 360 version. W/o mentioning its faults E, you're starting to look like a fanboy, one of those things you supposedly dislike - remember?
I've had the SAME expeience on my ps3 except my rumble doesn't require batteries and PSN is free. What was your point again? Take the fanboy digs to the right chief.
two main reasons BR hasn't taken off - the summary
1 price - disks needs to hit sub $20. Example I walked past a copy of Hidalgo at Walmart for $30(US). Went to Target later in the day and saw it for $15.99. Guess what? - it's now sitting next to 300 in my collection.
2 better library - LOTR, Matrix, Star Wars, Indy Jones, etc... need the BR treatment. Simply put, gimme the films I want cuz I'm not holding my breath for "Waiting to Exhale" to hit BR.
Activision's on the phone. They want their Soldier of Fortune engine back. j/k (but I truly hope that was the Nov.07 demo like I've read)
On topic, I do agree w/ you: KZ2 doesn't need to reinvent the wheel, just execute its design w/ polish and it'll be OK.
Looks to be a critical success as well. Now Sony needs to put this in every kiosk in every store in every region and advertise the hell out of it come October. It seems to incorporate almost every facet of Sony's next gen strategy (PS3/PSN/PSeye/Home/PSP?) and is by far the most family oriented game in the fall lineup. I look forward to playing this game with my children probably more than my PSN mates.
BTW, love the moving parts and sound effects proximity part of the moving s...
I knew KZ2 would be delayed as soon as SOCOM got a 9/16 release date and Insomniac suprised us with a late '08 date for Resistance2. With HAZE in May and MGO in June, I think I'll manage. Can't wait to play as a Chimera in R2 though!
Like Warhawk, I read somewhere it'll be available Sept. 16th on PSN for $39.99 and all retailers in the form of a SOCOM bundle featuring Sony's new Bluetooth HS (v2.0) for $59.99
And misery loves company. It's great you don't have a problem with your copy/ps3. But Tuesday, out of 25 friends on my PSN list, 18 were playing GTA4. As of yesterday, 6 of em have been encountering problems. That's 33% and far too many for it to be a product of mass media overhyping. OK? I love the fact T2/R* is getting much deserved criticism for PS3's online problems. R* made a fully integrated online game and T2 (IMO for financial problems/EA)decided against using dedicated servers. S...
I always thought one movie franchise was built for videogames, and too bad most before sucked. I hope besides the co-op story, we'll get a co-op alien hunt (a la R6V) and a MP mode that features us as aliens. I can always hope, right?
"Why don't you put her in chaaarge?"
but brah I feel sorry for you. I went through 3 ps2s last gen (one my kids broke though) and I only had a GC w/ 2-3 games most of the time. I've been in your shoes. Your "purchasing strategy" may not seem logical at the moment, but hang in there. By this time next year, you should have at least 5 AAA ps3 games in your library and will be able to tolerate your 360's absence. In the meantime, lol RENT asap.
Too bad R* thought using Gamespy's servers was a good idea.
EA will consume Take2 "for survival reasons, just like a vampire". I couldn't have said it better myself. While I'm happy Mr. Zelnick and co. have staved off an attack from EA, he better start checking for open windows lol.
Three weeks might be enough time for GTA4 burnout to set in. While FR's solid reputation was never at stake, the new footage from Xplay's summer preview showed the delay vastly improved the SP/co-op graphics.
You actually make a worthwhile comment about the GTA4 pedo article(heck I even agreed w/ you and bubbled up) and then you say something w/o cognitive thought. Don't worry though, I'm very adept at reading between the lines. You're hoping 2010 and the 720 get here before the ps3 passes 360's ww #'s. Just like Microsoft.
It was a play for more money, only Matt Damon found out this aint Hollywood.
I thought Al Gore invented the term "xbot", just like he invented the internet.
Anything from Cowboys to Beyond Driven would be good. But if we're gonna plunge off heavy metal's cliff, give me Ministry and ANYTHING from Psalm 69 - just one fix or jesus built my hot rod.
