interesting post, and I'm sorry to say that i think the arguments are a bit flawed. Before i go further i better clarify that i definitely don't count myself a fangirl. i'm happy the 360 is doing well, b/c i want more games to be developed for it. that said, i love my ps3, too, and am confident in the hardware and pleased with the games i've played so far and even more excited about upcoming ones.
so here's where we part ways:
your discussion of the 360 selling...
sure, he played it for 1-3 hours every day. next to a heater with a griddle on top. my 360 gets hot, but i think this guy saw the 360 on a stovetop story.
thanks, and i'm with you on Earthworm Jim. I also wish Mutant Zombie Flesh Eating Chickens from Mars would be available as a DL! a dog, mutant chickens...sounds like a 10. ;)
and when I was seven, i would have begged for that game. oh, the shame...
@ Twizlex:
I'm on board with liking that they weren't official. i'm not on board with the publication really only functioning as scrap.
zomg, it's approved. once a story is approved the only thing you can do is add updates.
and hopefully will be better than PSM, most issues this past year were a joke.
i hope everyone involved in this rating is properly embarrassed. and that they get pistol whipped with a wii zapper.
umbrella chronicles is rated on it's own, since when to [benign] peripherals get rated based on how "scary" a game is? and the peripheral is benign, in that so far as nintendo has revealed it has no real-life zapping capabilities. b/c that i'd buy.
hopefully when the "blair witch" moment comes, it's more like a "napolean dynamite" moment. all the press and fun, with less shame.
stuff doesn't exist until drug companies have something to give you for it. i know people with RLS, but they don't take out commercials for themselves advertising it, that's what drug companies do.
yeah, one would think, but everyone wants puppies.
yes, chaos will reign now that the market has been thrown in SKU confusion: people turn down lower prices in favor of a simpler, SKU-minimized universe.
check out the fansubs -- the Japanese voice acting puts the US dubbed versions to shame.
we'll be spared any "believe it" nonsense in this game, which uses the japanese voice actors. only the dubbed versions use "believe it" (a shoddy attempt at translating the in-translatable dattebayo).
and if by "wud" you mean "i'm sorry for wasting everyone's time with my pointless comment on an article i don't care about" then you are totally forgiven. ;)
yeah, parents continue to be uninformed. on ps3 launch day there was a kid with his mom and she knew nothing about the system or the games, just that he wanted a ps3. nothing else mattered.
nifty, but i've never run into any problem keeping the controllers charged. the charge lasts for ages, and plugging them into the system is hassle-free.
i agree, and a good illustration of that is how well the PS2 continues to sell. for the casual gamer/families, the price isn't right yet on either console for people that don't care so much about "next gen". when i urged a coworker that loves halo to get a 360 he just laughed, until the price drops he's happy with his xbox.
yeah, i have fun playing with multiplayer, but when i think about the games i've loved and others i'm really excited to play (oblivion, mgs4, ratchet, bioshock, zelda, etc.) multiplayer doesn't come to mind.
r u kidding? it's an N4G blog post.
