I think most multi-player only games fall short of creating any kind of community amongst it's players.
I think a good example to follow is how Metal Gear Online was setup. Clan management, training lobbies, in game text chat, weekly survival and tournaments with prizes, online shop with all items purchased from points earned in game etc
Most online games these days I just feel disconnected from everyone I play with, it's like join a game, kill people...
@PixelGateUK
It's not been released yet because it will undoubtedly crash the servers. It took them weeks/months to sort it out the first time around and they are not about to open the flood gates to every PS4 owner for it to go horribly wrong again.
That's my take on it at least.
Original Xbox is a monster, unless you can squat or deadlift about 400lbs you won't be able to pick it up let alone carry it.
Never played it but only ever hear good things about it.
You missed out Road Avenger. :)
Not everyone likes the big rise of the indie though. I don't think I've ever bought an indie title and I've only been exposed to them via PS+ which is genuinely beginning to grind on me.
Gaming will quite possibly never see a return to how it was in the late 80's onwards. But you know what, I really enjoyed the PS3 era and I often find my PS3 taking precedence over my PS4.
Think I've committed to buy this game, but only when the price is a lot lower. I finished Uncharted 2 in about 10 hours however I then went on to spend the next 6 months playing the online aspect.
Can't justify top dollar when it doesn't have anything that really increases longevity.
Hah I remember those days, best experience for me was discovering the Sega Mega CD over the friend of a friends house. He had imported it from Japan like two days before, I had never even heard of this beast before. A console that uses CDs, WTF!?
Then he powered it up with Earnest Evans in the drive, my god that sh*t blew my mind. I think that was my first experience of full on audio dialogue in a game, despite the fact it was in Japanese it just sounded immense.
"You quickly find out that what you think your character looks like after the creation is not really the same as when you were creating the character."
Haha I thought it was just me who wondered wtf happened with my character. I've played into the game for a few hours and I can't bring myself to restart just to redo my character, at the same time I can't bring myself to play it any longer as my character looks so stupid. *face palm* fml...
Hype train has arrived, ALL ABOARD!
Choo Choooooo!
"our games are double the price of other countries."
Against the Sterling, it's actually the same price yet the AUS minimum wage is roughly 2/3s more.
You wanna get truly screwed on prices? Come to the UK.
P.S. We get sunshine about 3 weeks every year.
Art style is horrendous, looks like a reject for a kids TV show on Nickelodeon.
After the way Double Dragon and TMNT was butchered, this is something I can live without.
"people think anything less then a 7 means its a bad game."
That's because generally, it does. Once upon a time, you would only see reviews in magazines and scores as a whole were accurate. Then the internet came about, every man and his dog starts writing reviews and the scores are so erratic I just stopped paying attention.
These days, anyone with half a brain looks past a review score and does their own research. Sadly, there are those withou...
True.
I only recently bought one as it was in a sale, even then it was the still more expensive than a Samsung panel (which was marginally better). Only thing that swayed me to the Sony was it was aesthetically suitable for where I needed to place it.
Only problem I can see with placing focus on the PS brand is if they make any mistakes or unfavourable decisions it will bury them.
Only thing that kept the Xbox in the race is MS has the finances to back up any gambles they take, but even with the money they have i'm fairly certain share holders wanted to ditch that division at some point.
@Hellsvacancy
What was bad about it?
It was pretty good to be fair, I won't be buying it though. I'm done with any titles that will have the inevitable season pass or day one DLC, refuse to give my money to these companies any longer.
You gotta go balls deep into a fighting games mechanics these days, if you don't know exact frame counts and match ups you're done before you even arrive...and that's barely scratching the surface.
Valkyria Chronicles, Binary Domain, Yakuza...theres a few great games but they don't sell in great numbers.
Since the merger with Sammy they have many revenues of income, they are still very much active in arcade amusements for example.
If I still played in front of my parents, I think DOA5:LR would be kinda arkward:
