Flash = Hype
Hype = Expectations
Expectations Lead to Threads such as This One.

Expectations = Failed Expectations as a result of over-hyping.

Lets play the games first before we just make a list of AAA's to pin the tail on.

Play First
Judge Second ..
And if you have to -
Hate Third.

Prey was ok. It could have used a little more polish, but it was a good game, with some innovative ideas. The whole native american connection to the alien race was a little lame (imo)

The alien ship was developed with excellent ideas in mind.. some fell strait through the floor though.

Nothing in Prey to remember, or care to for that matter, a few years from now.

Why visit the site then? You do realize that if you weed in between all of the the fanboy drenched opinionated douche bags, there are actually people who frequent the site for industry discussion and debate on a mature level. So if you wouldn't mind, in the future, check your unprovoked comments at the door.. how the hell am i supposed to respond to some random d1ck saying "you people are dumb"? .. with a smile and a hand shake?

Your not going to gain respect at any rate if you keep dropping dynamite contributions like "you people are dumb"

I'm a fan of debating differences of opinion with logic and reason, rather than various acts of douchery. I (unlike a lot of people unfortunately) realise that my opinion is only that.

Gearbox is and has been consistently "good / decent".

I for one am of the opinion that gearbox has more than payed it's dues, and is long overdue for a spectacular title.

This could be it; or it could be a complete flop. I try not to go by what I'm told to expect of a game, that'll ruin it before it's out the production house... remember dark sector?

- wait & see.

Really? ShadowRun wasn't received well because... for the most part it did not follow through on claims the dev made during the development stage, and the game itself was legitimately garbage (mostly).

Different strokes, different folks. I was just shocked is all; and I had 2 cents in my pocket that I figured you might like..

It is going to be difficult to not at least be interested in this game.. Original concepts and fresh ideas in an industry of far too much "more of the same, but sometimes with a shinier coat of paint" going on automatically merit at least a try, for me personally they do anyway.

Now obviously a game with a scale such as this will mean there will be bugs spread throughout, but that's typical and to be expected and hopefully should remain a rarely noticeable non-issue. ...

It's a tech worthy little snippet. I thought it was interesting.

Calling people dumb because you disagree with what they personally find interesting...? If that's not intelligence in and of itself.. I just don't know what is.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was "phenomenal."

- It was defenitely a good game, but it went rather stagnant after a while.. It needed to be polished up and re-thought in just a couple of aspects I think to be remembered as an excellent title; most will remember it because it came with the halo 3 beta. (imo, respectively).

Decent list, which could be looked at under a different light, and be picked to friggin' shreds.

The single most note worthy game on that list, and I would hope most of you with eye balls and good taste would agree, was The Darkness.

Stellar in basically every aspect. Nothing ground-breaking or face melting, but everything it did, it did very well, and it had one of the best cohesive voice acting groups of any game, ever.

Yea, the title may have been a bit misleading perhaps..

When i saw "see a mouse play quake 2" i for some reason imagined a mouse with a tiny little keyboard blastin' fools into chunky nibbles (anyone?)

An environment built on the quake 2 engine is still pretty cool though.

The experiment in itself is amazing, and as far as "the mouse just trying not to fall" .. it's pretty friggin' definitive that the mouse is recognizing th...

I dunno, The idea of Earthworm Jim in particular seems like it would be an excellent idea (imo). General opinions will obviously differ.

I, personally, would like to see (even though i have a better chance of staring in my OWN video game) a cartoon'ish concept, made to look a little less like a full-blown child molester, of Gordon Freeman runnin' around in his HEV suit; crowbar in hand.

I would imagine that Freeman aims toward a slightly different demographic of ...

PC gaming is dying? Hardly..

Now has it lost some forward driving momentum in the shadow of the mainstream consoles? Arguably, yes.

I like the topic, but the over-all list is probably the most non-informative nor interesting top-ten list i've read in a while.

Maybe the word I'm looking for is redundant. Everything on that list is already known by everybody who plays games.. PC's have a keyboard and a mouse?! Since when? What, you can upgrade the ...

Damn.. Sony from left field with the clever (ninja-like) business kick of a move strait the tender, self-conscious nutsack of Microsoft..

You can't help but chuckle under you're breath. Imagine Microsoft as a nerdy kid in junior high. Let's also imagine that said nerd mow's a few neighborhood lawns in an effort to get a flashy new, one of a kind bicycle to attempt to lose his moniker of "that dorky, spectacle'd wearin', mouth breather."
