I never played the 1st one even though I thought it looked cool. Worthy of bumping on the old backlog?
This game has me so excited. Seeing it and knowing who it's coming from (Software). It's all about the pedigree.
Yeh I love Terry Crews but I feel like this trailer is just riding on his recognition. Aside from that though, I really hope it's as fun or more than the first Crackdown. I absolutely loved that game. The 2nd one was a disgrace.
I actually teared up within probably the first 5 min of the first game and then proceeded to play the hell out of it until I finished it, and it got very difficult near the end. This one, as GaboonViper said looks stunning. Can't wait.
This thing is just dripping with personality. Immediately looking forward to it.
I don't know about the "focused" part. My guess is something more in line with Dark Souls player invasions, though different just because it's Kojima. I think Kojima likes his single player stuff too much to focus on multiplayer. Whatever he is doing, the mp aspect will probably just enhance the sp.
Knowing Kojima it will be something revolutionary and that's what I gather from his past games and not just fanboy blathering. As cliche as it is to say he really does think outside of the box. "It should be on the back of the CD case."
Yeh I just finished Batman The Enemy Within. Seeing Ace Chemicals in that game compared to the Ace Chemicals of the 7 year old Arkham City is just sad. Arkham City is open World while Enemy Within is a closed cinematic game. Enemy Within at the very least should look as good as the 7 year old open world game but it looks far worse by comparison. Tell Tale is just lazy.
Hell yes to Onimusha and while I'm on the subject of Capcom games, Viewtiful Joe! So much fun.
I missed out on Spyro back in the day but I've seen a lot of high praise for it. Is it up there with Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter?
Same here. I've been having trouble getting into games lately but this managed to get me hooked - and I haven't really gotten into a jrpg in years.
I still haven't played an asymmetrical fps I've liked aside from The Tank moments in Left4Dead but I'm always hoping one of these will turn out good. Maybe this one will be the one.
Loved it as well and played through it twice over the years, but I'm wondering how they would remaster a 2D game. I can't immediately recall any 2D remasters.
It looks great but I'm just a tiny bit concerned about the camera. It looks to be similar to the older dump truck turning that came with the old Resident Evil games - like you can't look around at your surroundings without slowly turning Kratos.
Looks interesting but not too sure about the roguelike element.
Maybe not minimal, but much less effort.
Ask a developer if it's cheaper and if there is less work involved when making retro games. Compare this game to something like Ghost of a Tale, done by one person and tell me which one required the most effort, time and dedication to make.
"Genius idea guys! We put in minimal effort, end up with an intentionally super ugly game and everyone will praise us like we're pushing boundaries!"
Can you elaborate? Curious why since I'd never even heard of this game until this article.
Thought the same thing about the combat looking Souls-ish. I'm always hoping for more devs to make souls-type games but it all comes down to the quality of combat and environments. Lords of the Fallen was a decent enough souls-ish game but I couldn't even be bothered finishing The Surge mainly because of the environments. Just bland and uninteresting.
Thanks for the link. That definitely put this one on the radar for me.
