I think people knock games in general for being sub-HD tbh.
Besides, comparing the console versions of COD and BF3 you can easily tell which one is the better looking game. Having BF3 sub-HD is no surprise considering what DICE are trying to achieve whereas COD has no argument :)
Scariest game this gen? Unless this is the only game you've played which has a little bit of horror in it you've got to be kidding me
Well it makes sense - your technically pre-ordering DLC (albeit at a slightly cheaper price as an incentive to use the service) so that you can access it at a later date. This is better for Activision as they can just pocket your money straight away rather than having to wait around and heavily market each DLC as and when the developer has finished each one.
Also would you really see people choosing to use Elite to get DLC slightly cheaper over the conventional method if you ...
It's "cool story bro"
@RegorL
Notice I said Grenade launcher - not AT4. The weapon calibre should effect the amount of destruction caused is what i'm getting at.
Also the destruction caused by that AT-4 is still much smaller than Bad Company 2 proportions.
derp
Not necessarily - all they would have to do in BF3 is make it so that buildings take much more punishment that they did in BC2, I mean it's just ridiculous to think that a Grenade Launcher can create a 2m x 2m hole in a building; if anything it should only be a hole of about 10cm radius.
I didn't play the alpha but I know that Demize (the Battlefield 3 weapon designer/balancer at DICE) has said that all weapons have been re-balanced following feedback from the Alpha trial :) I imagine that when we get to play the beta we will see for ourselves
@Best
Look's like COD's scrambled your brains
I imagine the SP would be on one disc and the co-op/MP on the other actually - only because the co-op is solely MP so it would make sense.
To be fair you could just buy the game off of origin if digital download is your only option - even then I think Direct 2 Drive and other such digital retailers have the game available too.
Just because BF3 isn't on steam that shouldn't stop you from missing out on what's looking to be a truly brilliant game. Just do the usual non-steam game process of linking the application to steam and calling it what you want - in this case Battlefield 3.

So you're happy paying $60 technically which is MW2 but with a few things people didn't like removed? and which could have easily been rectified by simply patching the game?
I hate how they use the removal of features which were stupid in the first place as a major selling point for MW3
"LOOK THE COMMANDO PERKS GONE! ALSO THERE'S NO NUKE THIS TIME AROUND! GO BUY IT NOW YEAH?"
I hope Activision doesn't think that all ...
Well we already know that people buying the PS3 version will get a free copy of Battlefield 1943 to download whereas 360 owners of the game will have no such option so... yeah
Agreed - and where killstreaks didn't completely ruin the balance of the game.
...and also where there were no ridiculous future gadgets such as heartbeat sensors, sentry guns, sentry bots, etc.
Call of Duty 4 was really quite a simple formula and yet it offered so many hours of replayability... I look fondly back on the days where i'd play COD4 Search & Destroy with my mates after school and have some really epic times with it.
I haven't bought any DLC since the WaW packs on PS3 - when MW2 came out it occured to me that they were starting to milk the franchise and just overprice shit in general, so I just didn't pay up.
Also COD4 and WaW were worth the money I felt, whereas MW2 and BO are just terrible... too much content with too little balance.
They sponsored the COD XP event I believe
The PWP will be released to everyone at a later date :) So if you didn't pre-order from the select retailers that offer the PWP like me then you don't have to worry.
They tried too hard to be epic with that trailer is the feeling that i'm getting coming out of that...
1.) When I saw the dogtags I was like "right...if this is going to be a straight copy of BF3's dogtag system... poor show - no wonder DICE are keeping their cards close to their chest if MW3's just going to copy everything"
2.) Those throwable mines? I foresee many rage induced hours for anyone on the receiving end of those.

It may not have deserved so many 10/10's but at the very least should have been a high scorer - it is the first of the GTA series on this new generation and accomplished so much in terms of Graphics, Animation and for R*'s first MP outing was bad either :) While the gameplay didn't change much, I felt that everything else more than made up for it - story was pretty awesome too, a classic GTA tale.
Post the link :) I agree btw - he's damn annoying, haha
Well they said the campaign is going to have tones of '24' and 'Generation Kill' in it. From what i've heard and read it seems that they are going with the traditional explosive Single Player - but they're really trying hard to keep it in the realm of believability and authenticity.
Personally I am really excited for the single player campaign - it's the icing on the multiplayer cake if you ask me :)
