Yeah, it did have that feature if I remember correctly. I miss Bots in FPS games actually. Do you remember Unreal Tournament or Timesplitters Future Perfect? They had some great multiplayer Bot mechanics. The last FPS I played with Bots was Killzone3, I think.
Doesn’t sound like I’m missing out on much here tbh.
It was a bit stagnant, wasn’t it? It felt like I was playing a different game the second time around. I don’t know why.
I loved Origins, but it hasn’t aged well. I didn’t even bother with the sequel. Maybe I should give this one a go.
Weird. Prior to the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Haze actually had an okay multiplayer.
‘Bermuda triangle of the gaming world.’ – Nice phrase.
Didn’t Haze have a really good development company behind it? It had some awful writing though, I remember playing it and laughing.
Well, if I get to choose my pot style… why not?
I’ve actually heard of treasure hunters going to find the burial sites XD
Before the release of the current-gen, I remember so much supposition floating around. So many gamers discussed whether or not the big gaming companies were going to screw everyone over or not. Luckily it was all nonsense, really. Nice article though, informative stuff :)
Agreed.
Supplying the Axis of Evil with ammunition is still not as bad as launching the baby penguin in Super Mario 64.
I’m not sure you’re missing out on much when you say you haven’t played a Tropico game. Probably worth waiting until the new Age of Mythology instead. City building with ancient Gods is far better than city building with politics.
I think the combination of politics and games would make most people run a mile =P
Cannibalising the wasteland isn’t on the list? Eating people was certainly not a necessity considering all that Insta-Mash lying around.
“What is done out of love always takes place beyond good and evil.”
Spooooky stuff!
Definitely dependant on the game, but I know where you’re coming from. Sometimes a gimmicky boss battle will break immersion greatly. There’s nothing worse than a health bar boss that dies after a few simple counter-attacks. The only game that I think really handled the concept of a ‘boss battle’ brilliantly was Shadow of the Colossus.
Don’t you think the selling performance of the Xbox combined with these negative appraisals suggest more about the Xbox and less about an entire community?
I heard the last Halo game was awful. Wasn’t the online play rendered completely unplayable for the first few weeks? Granted, Gears was a good series, but isn’t it time for something a little different? At least Sony is more pioneering with their releases. I haven’t seen an original exclusive I wanted to play on Microsoft since Fable.
Great concept, I just really hope it really lives up to the hype.
If Origins still has a better story, it sounds like I’d be disappointed with this one then. I’d play it, but I have to be picky about what games I invest my time in to these days. So much for this series being the spiritual successor of BG though.
