Um, it would be the same as the Wii and Move. Don't buy the hype 'never been done before in a console'.
Then you really don't know your history OR you just choose to ignore all the shady stuff Microsoft does. The reason I choose Microsoft is because they didn't really leave much choice out there if you're a gamer. Think about it then you'll see the the 'evil greedy company' is not that far from the truth. Oh, and I'm talking about the company, not the 360.
Mac is coming around though. Waiting for them to fully integrate STEAM...
I don't know, I'll have to see how they integrate Kinect support into Gears of War. Problem is, even if it's lame fanboys and mainstream media will still spout crap like awesome, innovative and 'first ever in a console', while ignoring everything else that came before it.
LOL, nice pwnage!
It's starting to look that way and it's a pretty bleak future if you ask me. Look at what happened to FF XIII, not even an JRPG if you ask me. As long as developers are willing to put out titles like GT5 out than they'll always have a customer like me buying em.
Another horrible review from someone who was expecting innovation and a change from previous GT titles.
Seems the reviewers scoring GT5 8 and below aren't the grind it out type. It's a shame really. Most reviewers now a days want instant gratification. Or at least really really quick. Any real GT fan will tell you, to get what you want in the game you'll have to be willing to race and tweak your rides. A lot. And for a long time.
Why are you defending horrible reviews anyway Alpha? It seems you're content to accept these reviews insight based solely on their word when there is evidence that contradicts their conclusions, real or not. Just doesn't seem right for someone with so many bubbles.
You seem like you're trying to keep a balanced view on the topic but can you really say after reading all the reviews that GT5 was held to the same reviewing standards as other games in the same genre...
Disappointing review. Reviewer disappointed that GT5 didn't innovate enough. What?! Add to the fact that he complained about the 'minimal' damage, which we're learning now is progressive, just goes to show that this reviewer really was expecting something other than a racing sim.
I think disappointed folks are missing the point. It's a very clever decision really. As you progress along the game, the simulated damage becomes more real to a point where you can really take yourself out of a race, which forces you to drive like you would in a real race. Can you imagine if the damage wasn't progressive? Most folks wouldn't finish one race and would walk away from the game frustrated because it would be 'too hard' to play.
Kaz you sly devil you!
The only problem I have with GT5 reviews is the constancy between the games and platforms. Where one is docked for flaws the other gets a pass and vice versa. Unfortunately we can't completely be rid of bias in this day and age of gaming. Sad really.
Sometimes I want to agree with Alpha because he seems so balanced. But I then realize he defends the 360 and it's trolls a little too much. How come you don't defend PS3 games against trolls Alpha?
It seems that most reviews that score gt5 8 and below are from reviewers was expecting GT5 to be something that it's not and thus came away a little disappointed.
IGN said it best. GT5 is a 10/10 sim in a 5/10 game. WHAT?! Stupid reviewers...
@wakka
Oh the irony....
You missed the bus, most reviews hit 12am.
It is just another GT racing sim. Not sure what you are expecting.
Truth is, the reviewers became spoiled while playing GT5 and wanted all tracks to be photo realistic and all cars to be premium looking. Instead of letting the pros outweigh the cons like it does in even the buggiest games, they knock GT5 for it.
I just hope that no one walks away from at least trying GT5 because it's getting good scores and not great scores.
