Sony clearly had loftier expectations that you would have us believe. The initial estimate for Vita sales at year one were 12 million, that's DS territory.
Vita was not designed as a niche console and was certainly not marketed as one. This niche, "loyal small following" vibe about it has been carved by fanboys who refuse to just accept the simple truth about it, it is a massive fail.
It would be one thing if these same niche warriors had been saying thi...
I literally laughed out loud reading your comment. You sound so butthurt it's hilarious! good grief guy, do you live in some sort of a bubble where only Sony is attacked?
Look around, everywhere you go there's an article about Microsoft doing this or that toupset one person or another. Nintendo hasn't fared much better either, nobody is immune to attacks.
So take a chill pill before you hurt yourself nerd raging for your dear Sony.
Does this guy not know that you do not publicly attack Sony?! I mean do you have a death wish or something? Because you will definitely get a death threat or 7.
Or at the very least people will vow to never buy your games again, they will question your ability as a games developer, they will insult you, they will accuse you of being bought out by the competition.
Pretty much you career is now over...in the mind of the Defence Force.
Wait, you like this game? You were just complaining how Crytek games are all graphics and subpar gameplay and yet you are all for Killzone?
The hypocrisy/irony is giving me whiplash
Your opinion and is valid if you have indeed played both games. Others disagree mostly.
Killzone.
well the article does compare the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 sales of the same game so it does open up a rational argument that the one system has more games than the other so the system lacking in games obviously sell more of a particular game
Being the Xbox head honcho means being able to make decisions like this and not having to run it past the higher ups first for permission. That is why should things go south, Phil's head is on the block and not the higher ups.
Jeez 4.1 million Vitas and PSPs combined in 12 months! And to think Sony thought they'd sell 12 million Vitas on year one alone and they still haven't sold that in total 2 years on.
Vita TV not doing much to help, not the savior it was thought to be.
It isn't even in the top 3 of their most profitable divisions. Imaging, Pictures(movies), music and financial services are the brightest spots financially for Sony.
The games division made a total of 17 million last year and lost 78 million this time around.
PlayStation helps to keep Sony mainstream but it is nowhere near the financial bright spot that you lot believe it is.
With profits of just $17 million last fiscal year and losses of $79 million this fiscal year, I do not see how the gaming division can save a company hemorrhaging money in the billions of dollars on a yearly basis.
Win any hope... no. Hehehe ; )
Arguing with someone about an experience you yourself have not had is stupid. I'm not advocating that we blindly accept every opinion without questioning, but this preview is more valid than the opinions of people that have not experienced the game... i.e. you lot.
Wait, people moaned about the inclusion and claimed they'd buy an Xbone if only it were Kinect-less and now those same people are agreeing with those bemoaning its unbundling? Pick a lane people.
Let's just be honest, there is a way of twisting and spinning everything to fit one's particular agenda, which in this case is to undermine the Xbox One at every turn.
All that didn't stop you from trying to blame Microsoft for whatever massive fail caused all this at Sony.
Okay apparently I don't play games.
He is also righting wrongs from 4 years ago, I remember throwing a need rage induced fit when they announced that twitter and facebook would be behind a paywall! Not because I didn't have Gold or even use social media on console, but because it was just ridculously greedy and backward!
Thank you Phil.
You are welcome, eat it *****!
By very few you mean 4 million? Yes. Point remains, many had already made that decision and more will because most gamers play games, not power.
As far as reputation from exclusives, Sony may have had a better pedigree coming into this generation but it has not translated into actual exclusives available in terms of quantity or quality.
My personal preference has always been to buy consoles based on what is on offer at present and near future. That's why I bought ...
