Heavy rain,Alan wake,ME2,Halo reach et al. My consoles win !!
Seems like on certain games for PS3 you have mandatory install. This is obviously required for whatever reason, otherwise, you wouldn't make it mandatory, now would you? On the 360, you don't have any mandatory installs(not to my knowledge), but you can optionally install if you choose.Personally, I would always choose to install to the HDD.However, most 360 games don't seems to benefit too much from install, anyway.Well, not in loading times, but it does reduce noise and wear of DVD drive,I gues...
very average, imo.Even if they had reduced the number of players,it's still would be average. For me, it's just missing that special something. It seems their goal from the outset was to give every feature all similar games have given, plus 256 players as a selling point! Problem is, they forgot to include gameplay in that mix! Also, charging full price for a game without any single player option! Nah, pass on this one.Not bad, just not good. Oh yeah, themes? Pass on them too. :)
Wow! That's a lot to live up to,right there! Graphics aside,if it get's even close to those two classics of yester year then it'll be one good game. Here's hoping.
initially, but as you play more it does grow on you. I thought the graphics good, although not outstanding, and the gameplay pretty standard stuff. However, 256 players? For me,this could make or break the game, if you know what I mean. But yeah,if it's a reasonable price, then I'm in.
has it right,in my opinion! If you REALLY want the best games ,graphics, features etc.You buy BOTH consoles.Yep,the 360 can be clunky, isn't elegant, but does has some kickass games and great online service. In contrast, the PS3, is elegant,is so not clunky, but also has some s**t games.Fact is, this guy realises that, which many of us have come to realise.Sometimes it takes more than one path to reach gaming enlightenment. You guys that fall by the wayside trying to convince yourself that their ...
"A regular controller works through an interrupt, take a keyboard for example, the actions are instantaneous, they work at the speed of electricity,"
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!!!
Firstly, 'speed of electricity' What the hell is that?? If you actually mean electron flow, then please learn the basics of Electrical engineering, jeez.Concentrate on the basics of OHMS LAW
Secondly, the interrupt handler routine would service the interrupt depending on t...
on 'maxed out' consoles. Most, if not all devs these days use medium or high level languages when coding as well as countless add ons and utilities to aid their efforts. However, until you code everything at the hardware(or machine code level) you have absolutely no concept of the real power of said hardware.Of course, it's not practical or economical to code that way these days, but that doesn't mean it COULDN'T be done. So, let's forget talk of maxing out hardware, shall we, because using hi...
my copy of Heavy rain, today! Look, this title is about the story and plot. It's an adventure game, not a platformer for christ's sake. It's not just, graphics and dialogue.I'll grant you UC2 have brilliant graphics, good dialogue - if a little cheesy at times, but great facial animations? Nah, not really.Besides, UC2 is nothing more than an interactive movie, albeit a pretty one. 'course that's just my view, and a I accept I'm in the minority. At least with this game you'll probably have to do more...
Do the comments start by praising a highly anticipated title, and within half a dozen posts or so, the language turns to slagging people who own a different console? WTF ! The usual suspects are always first in with the 'Wait for the hate to start' Now,I'm not here to explain the irony of their comments, but really, don't you see? By posting those comments, it's YOU that are starting the hate?
Anyway,I'll now join in with the sensible people on this thread and say this is absolutely,...
I learned a lot from that short video. Reminder to self - Look beyond material happiness, what lies beneath??
you have some intellectual superiority or innate ability, to determine, without fear of contradiction, what is and isn't a good game for everyone in the world and therefore, what games people should buy? May I just remind you,we are talking VIDEO GAMES!! Get a life!
you would then have to compare other elements of the games. Simply saying PS3 has better exclusive's based on graphics is just as lame as this article. 360 has better multiplats - I personally find this to be true, but still, if most of those games are garbage anyway, does it really matter? Gaming, is going the way of football. It's now more often about money and brands,NOT entertainment and gamers.
Clearly, Mr Greenberg means 'exclusive' in terms of console content, that's blatantly obvious, isn't it? Play semantics on any platform you like, but you won't be playing Alan Wake on any console other than 360, that's clearly his meaning. Why is this such a big deal to accept? It doesn't make a game superior just because it's exclusive to that console!
Clearly, the PS3 will have the superior version in terms of cut-scenes and videos for the game.If you compress something ,you then have to uncompress, and usually along the way you loose a little something in doing that. Then you have the inconvenience, however slight, of swapping disks at some point.Of course, that's assuming you can't dump the whole thing to hdd.In the end,it's the actual gameplay that counts, and if both versions are on par in this respect, then it's probably not too important...
wanting to play this game, but ultimately, I want a game that's complete, that I can complete without feeling I'm missing out.If the episodic content are just side stories or a new storyline altogether, then that's fine.Just don't try to rip me off with cliffhangers that need more content to complete the game fully, otherwise that, - as we like to say in the U.K, just wouldn't be cricket.
as many T.V commercials for PS3 as for 360 in the run up to Christmas so, I don't think advertising is the deciding factor. Personally, I think - possibly for the first time - the PS3 is better value for money, in terms of hardware. However, the British and American Psyche are very similar when it comes to the type of games we like to play, and this seems to be to the 360's advantage. Of course, everybody has their own particular reasons for their choice of console, but there does appear to ...
Of course Reach will outsell all other games in 2010, by quite a margin, I shouldn't wonder. I'm not suggesting it will be the BEST game, graphically or gameplay wise. However, when it comes to mass appeal, there's nothing -that's currently known about - that can touch it. Most of the 'competition' are niche titles or very limited genres.
IS a disappointment, but then so is the WII and 360. For me, none of the consoles have lived up to the hype at their respective releases. There are probably a couple mass appeal, great games on any of the consoles.Barring that, most are mediocre or niche titles.C'mon, when you think of what was promised at launch, it's hard NOT to agree with this guy, isn't it?
this isn't completely without foundation! Although, not specifically SONY and not a 'TIMER' as such. This sort of thing has been a feature of certain electronic devices for a very long time,I'm talking decades!Mostly, these problems can be the result of a particular design flaw, which may or may not have occurred accidently.Electronic component lifetimes vary considerably, and if, during the design phase,an inappropriate component is mistakenly used, then the result can be a premature failure.A...
