It makes sense that PS3 digital games won't work on the PS4 though. It won't play them. You just have to keep a PS3 around. Eventually you probably won't care about playing those old games anyway.
Are they saying all Xbox 720 or whatever games will be digital? I find that hard to believe. If they did that stores would refuse to sell their console. Why sell hardware you can't sell software for? They need to offer both. They also need to include a Blu-ray drive in their console. The next generation will definitely need more disc space than DVD can handle.
The only way they'd be bad is if you have to buy them to finish the game. I have no problem with DLC to let you play more levels as long as they aren't taken out of the actual game. Go ahead and let people buy little things like outfits or weapons. That's no big deal. If you don't like it just don't buy them.
I don't need to get myself a PC. I have three. But I don't use them for gaming. That's what my console is for. Thanks anyway.

Some people are making too big of a deal out of this. Get over it. In the past consoles didn't have this feature and it was no problem. Sony could have included the feature in the PS4 but it would have added to the cost. Better to spend that money on 8GB of GDDR5 RAM. That's something that will be big a couple years after the PS4 comes out. Backward compatibility won't matter by then.

Yawn. These crappy articles are getting boring. I have more games for my Vita than I have time to play them. I got a lot of them free on PS Plus too. The best deal is buy a Vita and PS Plus. You won't even need to buy any games.
Of course everyone won't buy a new console right away. That would be impossible anyway. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo can't make them that fast.

I wonder if everyone just read the main headline of this article and not the actual article? It ends up making the PS4 look good but from reading the comments on here I think people got offended over a PC gaming versus console gaming issue. Everyone should read what it says. The PS4 could really change all gaming. Microsoft might have to make some big changes to their new Xbox if they didn't go the same way Sony did.

That article was put together horribly. I had to look all over to even find the links to the games. Talk about flawed gaming. At least make it easy to click for the next page when you want people to give you lots of clicks.
I hope you aren't serious. The PS3 has been out for a long time and isn't that cheap. I doubt either console will get to $99.
