If you read the column he tries to spin it. I don't understand why they had to file chapter 11 though to do what he says they're doing. Letting the courts decide who will own what of the company. Maybe they can come out of it but Ziff Davis has been going downhill for a while. I don't know if people will be willing to give them money for the magazines anymore. And 1up.com is slow and boring.
Bankruptcy is a great thing. Everyone should file. Then you can stop paying your bills and maybe even start over.
I haven't read this thing yet but it's funny someone would try to explain how bankruptcy is a good thing. I don't see it. For a company it means delaying the obvious. Soon you'll be out of business. I hope they last long enough for me to finish my EGM subscription. It lasts through Jan. 2010. I knew I should have asked for my money back from my OPM subscription.
Not only will the 360 possibly hurt kids, there aren't any good games for kids on the 360. The PS3 is the console kids should be getting. Sony has made a lot of great kids games. If the kids don't want a Wii get a PS3. What good kids games does the 360 have anyway? Even Rare's kiddie games seem to get poor reviews. It's like Sony said, the 360 is all about FPS games. And we all know those aren't for kids.

But it says the PS3 version will have its own DLC. Uh oh, what will Xbots say about that? The PS3 version appears to be the version to buy now.
All I know is I'm still trying to catch up on games I bought last year for the PS3. Now there are a bunch of other new games. If I get MLB 08 The Show I might have trouble playing other games. And God of War on the PSP is a must buy. This isn't even the busy time. Sony sure is off to a great start for 2008. Much better than this time last year.

Don't forget about those of us who wasted money upgrading to Vista. That wasted over $250 of my money. I wonder if Bill will stop shedding the tear a minute and give me the money back?
Joey - You know Blu-ray can't be used for future 360 games. That won't work. History has proved that most gamers won't buy upgrades to play new games. If all 360 owners were forced to buy a Blu-ray add-on to play new games Microsoft would have a lot of angry gamers. That's why it won't happen.
I've said this from the beginning of this current generation war. Microsoft released the 360 around six months too soon. They should have waited for HD DVD to come out and include an HD D...
This would be a big mistake by Microsoft. If they don't want the price to be higher than the PS3 they'll have to take a loss on each drive. And the Blu-ray drive will only work with movies. Why bother? But whatever happens Sony wins on this one.
All I can say is I'm amazed. Amazed someone could write such a horrible list. The 360 is #1? The Dreamcast is #2? The Gamecube is in the top 10? The PS2 is way down at #3? The biggest success in the history of console gaming at it's behind a failure and a piece of junk? Just amazing.
Phil - You forgot one of the biggest games. Sony has MGS4 coming this year. 2008, the year of the PS3.
Resistance was a first generation game. Insomniac used a lot of tools they used on the PS2 to make the game. It was a learning project. And was still a great game. Do you really judge Resistance 2 from that? You should at least rent the game and give it a chance.
Me too. It's not like we have to choose between Resistance 2 and Killzone 2. Both will be great.
What makes Insomniac great is they know they're good and aren't afraid to do things everyone says is impossible. It's funny to see these doubters who say they can't do what they say they're doing in Resistance 2. Oh yeah? Watch them. I'm sure the game will end up great. Maybe even better than we think it will. Insomniac isn't scared to push the envelope.
I agree Phil. Play the real version on the PS2. At least the PS2 is powerful enough to handle the game. Hahaha.
Can you say poor sales? I thought you could. Micro$oft must be paying a fortune for this. That's the only reason anyone in Japan would do this. Everyone knows Japanese gamers hate Micro$oft. Even this won't help sales for the 360 in Japan.
Here's an idea for Sony. They can do what Nintendo does and have a game with all their characters in it. The first one should be a racing game. They can use Gran Turismo and have their characters all race cars. That would be fun. They have enough characters to do it, that's for sure.
The second game can be a fighter. Then do some party game idea. Finally a platformer.
Maybe we should all pay in full for a copy of GOW3. Here Gamestop, take my money. I'll wait a year.

Yes, competition is good. But we all know Microsoft's opinion on competition. We buy you or destroy you. They prefer to own the market. You can bet they don't want any competition. Competition is evil as far as they're concerned. It's why I'm fed up with them. I have no problem with competition. I don't want another monopoly.
