Sony have already made it clear that the PS4 Pro mid cycle refresh wouldn't change the road map for the PS5 launch. The PS4 Pro is still referred to as in the same PS4 family and not next gen. I heard rumours awhile back, before this guy, suggesting a late 2018 launch window for PS5 was on the cards and since the Scorpio is coming out later this year, I can see the PS5 being hurried along a bit so as not to lose business to a more powerful Xbox Scorpio, and so as not to give Microsoft too...
Not a problem with battery life for us, as we will use our 30000 mah portable USB battery charger with the Nintendo Switch and see how long we get with that. I look forward to picking up my Switch on Friday :-)
My partner and I have each preordered the neon Switch, one for her place and one at mine. Looking forward to it.
The Nintendo Switch is only costing me $140 USD in my country(New Zealand) after a Wii U trade in credit to preorder the Switch. That is all I now have to pay on March 3. If it wasn't for that deal I wouldn't be buying one as in my country (New Zealand) it is too expensive for what The Switch is in my opinion. We have to pay $399 US for a new Nintendo Switch($549 NZ dollars). I wasn't going to do that and had ruled it out until seeing this retailer deal for the trade credit, so af...
We have three 4K TV's in my house, One 65" HDR Sony X930D and two LG 49" 2015 4K TV's in our bedrooms. My partner also has a 65" 4K LG 2015 Smart TV in her house and a cheaper entry level 4K 55" Akai model in her bedroom. My brother just bought his first 55" 4K LG 2016 HDR TV at the Boxing day sales and it has both Dolby Vision and HDR-10 on board. I think 4K is becoming more wide spread with its adoption now as they get cheaper to buy.
Or a modified hybrid Puma chip with some Zen attributes. We will see :)
What happened to Phil Spencer's comments last October stating the Xbox Scorpio will be a balanced machine. He said " the team is focused more than anything else on ensuring balance between the CPU, GPU, and memory on the console. Indeed, making the Scorpio a balanced console is the number one priority.

The fan boys will defend their beloved Nintendo no matter what they do.The Switch is just a glorified Wii U/Wii/3DS hybrid remarketed and rebranded, adding just a few extras, to make the Wii U be what it probably should have been years ago, but graphically, it is about on the same level as the older Wii U. I was very optimistic before the conference the other day, but that conference killed it off for me, especially in the graphics department. I hate jaggies with a passion in my games, no mat...
Double dipping. The fan boys will defend their beloved Nintendo no matter what they do. This game is basically the exact same game now as what it was on the Wii U but the fanboys will defend it with their life's and pay again. Nintendo knows this hence why they do this. The problem is they need to attract more than just there fanboys over to there system for it to survive and that's not happening.
Just like the Wii U because this feels just like a rebranded and remarketed Wii U and renamed The Switch.
This to me made me feel flat and underwhelmed and quite disappointed. I am convinced now that the Switch is now just a rebranded and rebadged Wii U with a slightly more modern look, a few added features and remarketed. Even Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looked just like the Wii U counterparts and didn't look any better graphically as in resolution and crispness. The games showed up with jaggies and looked fuzzy and not crisp like I am used to with my PS4 and Xbox One S. It look...
I will be getting both. I'm not a fan boy of any particular game device. I just enjoy them all. I presently have an Xbox One S, PS4 Pro and a gaming PC and I will certainly get the Nintendo Switch and The Scorpio later in the year. I look forward to hearing more about them this year in the build up to their release. I will buy them for there exclusives and individual tech that each has onboard and enjoy them for what they do best, playing games. :)
I have Titanfall 2 on my PS4 Pro already and I'm really enjoying it, but after seeing the sale price, I decided to buy the Digital Deluxe Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 combo for my Xbox One S in the Microsoft's Store, for their special combo sale price, for both games together. I wanted to buy Battlefield 1 at some stage soon anyway, so Titanfall 2 was basically thrown in, since it was a combo deal and a brilliant price for Gold members..My partner and I game share, and I have made he...
The rumor is that the Scorpio will be using the new AMD Vega for graphics and an AMD Zen processor when both technologies get released next year, well before the release of Xbox Scorpio. Obviously those two technologies will be in a Vega + Zen SoC ( APU ). The links are posted if you want to read about the tech and both look very promising on delivering a lot of graphical and processing power. http://wccftech.com/amd-v...
I laugh at those that quote that 6TF wont be enough to run Native 4K games and compare to older tech to back that up but forget that technology moves on and the Xbox Scorpio will be using AMD's Vega next gen graphics tech that is going to be released first quarter 2017 http://wccftech.com/amd-veg... along with the new AMD Zen processor architecture 3467d ago 1 agree6 disagreeView comment
AMD’s First HBM2 GPU is Vega 10 – Arrives in 2017 For High-Performance Radeon Gaming probably in the first quarter. The new AMD Vega will do 12TFlops using next gen memory 16GB, HBM2 memory, 512GB bandwidth so the Scorpio will be far behind at that point and less then 6 months later Vega 20 GPU's will be released on 7nm, 32HBM2, 1TB/s. You get my drift so Scorpio will be rather lackluster a short time later after its release. The price should be reflected of that time.

For those downing Sony's decision to not include 4K Blu ray support (I am one of them) it now looks like it could be enabled through a future firmware update, if and when, Sony chooses to add it, so it looks look like the PS4 Pro does have the hardware for Sony to activate 4K Blu ray support when they choose. The reason given that Sony have not enabled it just yet is due to their upcoming 4K UHD Blu Ray player, that is being released soon. They want people buying that and if they had full...
LG 4K TV's support both HDR formats now and they have called it HDR Pro on their TV's so if you see that on an LG TV then you are good to go with both Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 . Unfortunately for me I own one of there 2015 UHD smart TV's and even though it has HDMI 2.0 ports and has support for 10 bit color and also deep color support, the manual doesn't say anything about HDR support ,so unless LG decide to send down a firmware update for the 2015 4K TV's I wont be ...
I plan to get all of them. I love tech. If the Scorpio was coming out this year then I would definitely wait for just it, but since it's probably not coming out for another year and a half I will get an Xbox One S to tie me over while I wait, but only because of the 4K Blu Ray and 4K Media streaming capabilities since I already have an Xbox One. Its a very cheap 4K Blu Ray player in its own right, over stand alone 4k players, which do nothing else, but play 4K movies and have 4K streaming...
Phil Spencer has already gone on record awhile ago saying that the Scorpio won't be more expensive than any past console. The PS3 was the most expensive launch console, being $600 at the time, so I can't see it costing more than that, unless Microsoft go against what they said, which is a possibility. I can't see them making it $600 though, now that the PS4 Pro is out. I think the PS4 Pro will get a price discount around Scorpio launch, so because of that, Microsoft won't wan...
