Fanatec is announcing something big in a few days. Most are speculating it's a "direct drive" wheel base that will be compatible across the board. Could be wishful thinking but it more than likely is possible.
Regardless if it's cross platform or not I'm getting it if it's direct drive.

"then why do PS4 extremists constantly beat up the X1 if a multiplat has lower rez?"
You mean like how 360 fans did the exact same thing to the PS3 when comparing multiplat titles last generation? At least this generation the differences are more substantial than blades of grass or having to freeze frame and magnify that frame to show the differences. Yet there were 10x more comparison articles last gen comparing such miniscule differences th...
On the PC it will but not any of the consoles.
Thrustmaster T500RS is compatible with the PS4 as is the new Thrustmaster T300 being released in September along side the release of this new shifter.
It doesn't matter until it does is to all the hypocrites that downplay power, options and features that their console of preference doesn't have. Sooner or later parody of most of those options and features happen through updates and hardware revisions and than all of a sudden, low and behold, I never said it didn't matter or doesn't make a difference. I merely said it wasn't necessary and it didn't really add to the gaming experience.
Again all sides ...

Graphics ALWAYS mattered. You say you've been gaming since Atari 2600. I was gaming before PONG. We called it pinball.
I go all the way back before conventional home gaming started. Now in the very beginning people didn't say much about graphics with Pong or the 1st Atari console but nearly every console from that point forward most gamers I would knew would discuss graphics and their depth / skill level increasing.
In the begin...
Both.
Just purchase the SSO / X1 bundle and pick up MCC.
Me personally I would choose SSO but only because I'm Halo'd out. I have my eye on 5 but I don't want to replay the previous versions over again.
I use to be a big Halo fan but now I'm more into Gears and other shooters. Looking forward to playing SSO. I usually enjoy Insomniac titles.
" When did that change"
You know as well as any N4G member or lurker that has been on this site for more than a year or 2. It changed now that Sony has the edge, and by a lot more than MS did last generation, with multiplat titles because their hardware is more capable and easier to develop for.
So if you are going to be coy at least be an honest broker while doing so. This whole gameplay / fun factor over graphics don't mean a damn thing to a P...
Who is bitching about it? I think it's one of the dumbest timed exclusive deals ever put togther. Tomb Raider is not a system selling franchise. It never has been. It never will be. Other than MS looking to have something to compete with Uncharted 4, which The Rise of Tomb Raider has zero chance of doing, this move literally makes no sense at all.
This is just another in a long line of MS not knowing how to get out of their own way and throwing any and everything at the ...

I have 780Ti Classified in SLI with 31gb free memory and more than enough processing power to run this game on Ultra settings with a triple panel 1080p setup. When I going into the graphics option and have the game determine what settings I use it chooses ultra, 4x TXAA in 5760 x 1080p.
Every game on my rig runs flawlessly but this one. I don't doubt it could be a conflict on my rig with a driver or setting but I know a lot of others online are ...
8 meg ram cartridge FTW when it came to 2d fighters on the Saturn. I still have mine too.
I was just playing mine a few weeks back when we had a gathering at my place. Our wives hung out back around my pool having a few drinks while me and the boys were getting nostalgic in my gaming room.
The Ram cartridge still works like a charm. 2nd coolest thing Sega created to enhance their console. The 1st was the VGA adapter for the Dreamcast.
I've been PC gaming since it's inception and I've always said console gaming's biggest plus is it being so plug and play friendly. It's the reason I personally choose console gaming over PC gaming even though I have a pretty powerful gaming rig.
You spend almost as much time researching fixes, updates, keeping CPU and memory usage in the background low, choose performance over stability or vice versa, than you do gaming it seems.
Don't...
I got this game for free with my new video cards and it runs like @zz on my PC. I tried over and over to get it to run properly. The weird thing is it doesn't run that differently whether I have it on my triple panels or a single monitor. I gave up on trying to get it to work and moved on.
My rig should be able to run this game on 3 x 1080p ultra settings TXAA and it I get frame drops down into the teens and micro stuttering on medium settings @ 4x msaa. It's ridicul...
If you are card is running cool, that's great. Saying your card runs at 50c could mean next to nothing. What resolutions, what settings, what games, how many panels / displays, what size tower, PSU, cooling system, etc all come into play.
I'm not trying to insult anyone by saying Radeon cards run hot. I mean maybe hotter than hell wasn't the best choice of words but they do run hotter, consume more power and are louder than Nvidia cards. Especially when comparing...
I just picked up The Witcher 2 off of Steam for $3.99 2 days ago. Never played a Witcher game before and I'm not a huge fan of RPGs but so far I'm having a great time playing it. It looks amazing on my triples (1080p) at max settings.
I couldn't pass it up for that price. The game is really incredible. A lot to learn for a guy like me but luckily my son played and completed the it and he is a big RPG fan. So he is helping out with the learning curve. It's act...
I thought you were joking until I clicked on the link and read the specs of the rigs they used. Wow they are kind of weak. My rig is over 2 years old an it literally smokes these rigs.
I thought they were going to at least be running an SLI configuration. Although that Radeon card is a really good card. Runs hot as hell but a decent card. I personally prefer Nvidia but that's just me.
Actually this article couldn't possibly be further removed from reality.
Performance is a huge reason why Sony is ahead and hype has next to nothing to do with it. How can anyone with a shred of common sense bring hype into a discussion involving the gaming industry and put Sony ahead of MS? Nobody spends more money on marketing than MS. Nobody talks to the press more than MS. Seriously, how can you use hype at all?
This article screams attention / pure a...
That's this author / narrators opinion. He thinks FH2 looks stunning. I have friends that say games certain games look stunning before I get a chance to play them and once I do I'm like, "yeah, okay, what ever." But that's their opinions. Potato / Patato.
I do think of the upcoming racing games FH2 is the least visually impressive. So in that instance I agree with you. What matters most to me is gameplay mechanics and how they handle on FFB wheels.
Man you know your DIRT. Long rally tracks are intense when you turn off all the assist and crank of the AI difficulty. I still play Dirt 3 and 2 regularly. I love how they handle on my FFB rig, especially using my handbrake mod. The best reason to own a handbrake.
I hope codemasters makes this game much deeper. I want a lot more locations and track variation. I want Dirt 4 to be hardcore. If they want fluff put that crap in Showdown 2.
@badboyz
And the PS3, 360 and Wii era isn't over yet. Sony has the best track record of supporting their previous version the longest. Sony still has a chance on surpassing the Wii overall by the time they stop supporting and manufacturing the PS3.
This isn't directed at you but I will add. Just because a new generation has arrived doesn't mean the last generation is over. Sony could end up being top dog across the board when it comes to home cons...
