squenix has already voiced its thoughts about this already. they have said again and again that most of the trailer shown at e3 was using the white engine to render itself. its in the psm issue that reviews ffxii. i have the issue at home and remember reading it a bazillion times.
they've also said that the ffvii tech demo was also completely real time, so if that tech demo can look that good, why can't a product they've been working on for 4+ years look as good too?
...
Ahahahah!! i love it. the companion cube ftw!!
"i wonder if there'll be a cake.."
you can see that the colors are slightly better in the hdmi shots. but the difference isn't as big as everyone expected it to be. anyways, i trust my own tv more than theirs anyways.
anywho, i get you to 11 bubbles, you get me to ten. deal? haha
DMC games usually include the extras that most other games make you buy. like extra skins, alternate scenarios...
already started my replays. i finished mgs2 over christmas break without killing anyone on hard (didn't have the patience for extreme..) and i play to replay mgs3 over spring break.
anyways, thats a great read though. here's wishing for an mgs movie..
speaking of apple, i wonder what features from leopard they're going to rip for this new os. i'm willing to bet quick look, time machine, and maybe automator.
i'm not a big fan of the tanks being called "crucios" or however you spell them. to me, they'll always be siege tanks. but anyways, those scvs getting fired on by them are goners. i love the particle effects. haha
and of course we'll be playing this one for years. we've played the last one for a decade already. and there are still 10k games going on during the prime hours of brood wars alone.
why do they look so alike.. i've always gotten Zack and Angeal confused... maybe i haven't been following this game as closely as i should be.. haha
seriously, i'm praying for a ZOE3 on ps3. i would pay $100 for that game.
don't keep your hopes up. its been slated as ps3 exclusive by major people in the project and in the latest trailer where these images are from.
five bucks say that that overlook shot is real time and will be in the game when it comes out.
i laughed at her resistance 2 stuff. i won't be so quick to judge this one.. though i'm hoping for a straight up remake at some point though.
it lets you log into bnet, but can you play games?
i would like to see them make the movie go along the lines of the fall of reach. cause that book was kick@ss
i believe you can upgrade standalone players with a disk from the manufacturers or with a blu-ray that has the update on it.
and by future proof, it means consumer electronics time scale, so like 5-10 years.
games are becoming easier because gamers are becoming more casual and therefore not good.
you don't see many really challenging games any more, which is why i absolutely thrive on ninja gaiden: black, DMC3, and gow2's titan mode. it demands better, smarter play, which is something you don't see any more.
you guys are missing the point. its supposed to be a second or third computer. no one expects you to buy this and use it day in and day out as your main work computer. its ultra portable because its just that: portable.
however, as much as i understand its use, i have no intention of getting it because i have no use for it and i'm too poor to afford it.
and gijeff, this laptop is thinner than sony's. please watch the keynote before you make uneducated stateme...
minimum 256mb huh... 8800 series card or better. wasn't aware there was better.. lol
how do you require 2gb of ram? even most vista computers ship with 1 if i'm not mistaken
not as hard as dmc3? weak... though i'll probably still pick it up along the way. the difficulty was something that kept me coming back to dmc3. i loved how hard it was. challenge is a good thing. they should put a sticker on hard games saying "wussies not apply"
mag, you know that cgi can't be rotated 360 degrees. with cgi, you only have to render whats seen from the point of view of the camera. being able to rotate it 360 degrees like that means its real time rendering of full polygonal objects.
thats why that video was so ground breaking, not because it looked phenomenal, but because it was real time
