I always buy all of the consoles in a generation.
What I buy first depends on exclusives and performance - which console plays the multi-console games best.
For this gen, I bought the PS4 first and later picked up the blue Forza edition XBOne.
We’ll see what happens with next gen...

Meanwhile, my 14 year old who had saved up his money to get a Switch at launch asked me yesterday if he could sell it. He’d been holding out for Metroid, but he doesn’t care about it anymore.
We also own a PS4 and a XBOne. The PS4 gets played on daily. The XBOne hasn’t been turned on in months - same for the Switch.
This is a different tone than: “If you don’t like our game, then don’t buy it!”
Perhaps they are realizing that people will support developers that show they give a darn about the consumer.
You can speed up the rate you bleed out if no one is near.
Exactly - if I played now as much as I did when I was single and without kids, I’d be a very irresponsible husband and parent!
Good read. I’m 46, and I find that I just don’t get as excited about upcoming games as I used to. A lot is “been there, done that”. There’s nothing really new - just the same type of game with better graphics.
I still game, but much less, and I own far less PS4 and XBone games than I do PS3 and XB360 games. I suspect it will be even less with the next gen - I’ll probably just get one console.
I’m curious how many have sold since the price was cut.
I think we should all just jump around! (Jump Jump) Jump around! :)
Bottom line:
1. The launch XBONE was not as powerful as the launch PS4. Multiplat games played better on PS4.
2. The XBONE was more expensive than the PS4 - primarily due to the Kinect - which was a big gamble.
3. PSPLUS had come along far enough where people were not married to LIVE - so a lot of COD players switched to PS.
4. PS has had more (and overall better) exclusives.
To win next gen, MS ne...
Been putting off getting this - pulled the trigger with the GOTY awards - will fire it up tonight!
I’m glad we have an “analyst” to tell us these things.../s
Don’t know that it’s worth it this late in the gen - maybe if it will work with the next gen hardware, but how could you get that guaranteed?
Will it be a launch title for the Anaconda and Lockhart?

These developers need to have someone filter everything they say. - They come out with stuff that just shoots themselves in the foot.
That said, I do appreciate the heads up - my excitement for this game is much lower now.
I agree - in this particular instance, they made a change; it didn’t work, so they changed it back. No harm, no foul.
They can’t afford to not be responsive with all the drama around this game. I still can’t believe they didn’t learn their lesson after the Battlefront fiasco.
My hope is the BFV, like Battlefront 2, will eventually become a good online shooter.
I wish game companies would stop talking smack and let their games do the talking for them.
It’s just not a good look.
I see your point, but video games were built on instant gratification from the get go - think Pac-Man and Galaga - it was all about getting to the next level and a higher score.
With RDR2, there are no levels, except for improved health and dead-eye - but those haven’t really made a difference in the way that hitting a new level in another game allows you to finally use the sword you’ve been carrying in your inventory.
There are better weapons, but they a...
I’m starting to lose interest - I’m at 22% completion.
I just don’t have the desire to explore - there’s just more land. I don’t have any desire to hunt or fish or search for the other things some people have you searching for. It just seems pointless.
I’ve just been completing story missions - which are decent.
I regret buying it digitally - now I can’t sell it.
I can see where some people love the game - guess it’s...
I’d think doing a remake and selling the game at the $59.99 price point would be worth it for developers.
They already have the basic story/gameplay set, and it would be on a commercially-proven IP, so there is far less creatively that needs to be done compared to a brand new game - even a sequel. And far less risk as well.
