Preloaded this beast and just played my first full level on the PC...its no hype. This game is for real. If L4D is even close to being as good as it is on the PC then its a must buy for the console fans. What we have here is probably the best coop game since Diablo. If you buy this game for the PC then length of L4D is unlimited. There's a ton of user created maps and content already in the works. A lot of people hate on L4D because of the dated H2 engine and thats true. But the advantage is a silky smooth game that can spit out masses of zombies like no tomorrow and as an added bonus, its easy to create custom maps and mods for.
Nobody in their right mind would buy Farcry 2 for PC. Pirates love cracking DRM heavy games and Farcry 2 is one the smart gamers can easily have for free. Let the suckers pay $60 to buy this crap game on the console.

Slow moving zombie is only scary if the controls sucks and you can't move while aiming. L4D isn't as scary as Dead Space, because your character can move around like a CS operative but it is a hell lot more fun. As an online game the formula works.

Well no some Socom maps can be played in multiple modes. Each specific AA maps are designed for VIP escort, eliminations, objective capture, or bombs. You wouldn't be able to play VIP escort in an objective capture map for example. Its not like CoD 4 where you can play Pipeline in all three HQ, Domination, and TDM modes.
As far as I know there is only one mode. But each map is designed for a specific gameplay type.
