I don't see this affecting blu ray as their stand alone players are not what's driving sales, it's mostly the ps3.
it's good news for HDDVD, but only for the publicity factor, it will help out sales a bit, but not much in the overall scheme of things.
but the headline looks good for the HDDVD camp anyway...
it will likely have a good xmas, which is residual effect from last year, but most will move on to the DS or the other consoles.
5 guesses where this thread will go.
jaw officially dropped...
there needs to be more closing and deleting news items, especially when they are debunked...
is the front page space wasted with a petition?
the people making the games you just talked about have the big $$$ to do that kind of stuff.
small to medium devs don't have 20-30 million $ and the time to spend 2-4 yrs developing and waiting for profits.
This will allow the people who work for xbox live tech support to actually use the service.
but right now both formats are fighting DVD and digital distribution, and loosing badly.
Sony designed the system, maybe if sony had made better tools, and not used hardware that nobody knows how to use, they would not be stuck.
I don't fault the developers for doing what they have to do to make money, it's why they are in business.
The 360 may be easier to program for, but MS also sent people out to help devs get used to the new platform, show them the tweaks and tricks and such. They also made tools that are easy for devs to use, and it makes sense...
it's just gonna be a port to the 360 and will likely look like crap anyway.
I'm downloading it...
title of the article if freaking hilarious:)
but if they gave away say 6 months to a year free when you buy a premium or higher it would help them drastically.
is their fee worth it? I believe so, but try and convince someone it's worth it without them having the ability to try it out for a while is hard.
what a stupid way to compare, why the hell are you people arguing over pictures taken from a TV?
at least have the brains to save your stupid arguments until there is some hi-res video comparisons online.
as long as it looks and plays good, what difference does what "tricks" they use make?
seriously, some people need to get a life...
rocket sword and laser whores can all be defeated fairly easily.
children and heavy breathers = mute
if you know there is a sniper out there, find good crouching places.
campers, find them and kill them, grenades are awesome for campers.
deserters/quiters I agree, but the feedback system helps.
and I can't believe team killers isn't there.
you don't like the price of the content, don't pay for it.
I fail to see why this made news...
did we really need a review of the console 1 year after it's release?
dumb fanboy, even if HDDVD flops it means absolutely squat to MS.
they can rely on their HD/sd movie service, which is doing very well. They could also decide to make a blu ray addon for the 360, no skin off their back either...
