Very true. They are making a Dragon Age Ultimate Edition with all the DLC, I don't see why they won't do it for Mass 2 as well.
Mass Effect 1 has 30-40 hours of content (counting side missions, which are continued and mentioned in ME2), you cant expect a redone intro to explain all that content in its entirety.
The decision to move Mass Effect 2 to PS3 is purely a business decision, and I don't blame them at all. However, if you play ME2 without fully experiencing Mass Effect 1, you won't be able to fully appreciate the characters or the story.

Will never happen. Arenanet are PC only developers. They have absolutely zero involvement with consoles.
Also, putting an MMO on a console severely limits its future. You can only make it so big, make the graphics so good, it limits the updating process, and overall just holds the game back.

Unfortunately, they can't port ME1 to PS3 because Microsoft published it, and therefore owns the publishing rights. The only way it could happen, is if EA bought the rights from Microsoft. If there were going to do that, they would have done it already.
Honestly, if you already got or are getting ME1 for PC to get the whole story, you should just get ME2 for PC as well. (IMO)

A better version? You act as though PS3 players are getting some kind of discount, you aren't. The PC version of Mass 2 is 29.99$ and even if you purchase all the DLC (not the DLC already included), it doesn't pass the price tag of the PS3 version which is listed at 59.99$.
