This is not censorship. Valve is not a governmental entity so the analogy above to this being like North Korea is ridiculous. Steam is a company and they have the right to publish and distribute what they want. The company thinks that this game crossed their line and you should respect that decision.
I'm not a violent man, but I want to hurt Lizard Squad. Why not attack something really evil like North Korea or ISIS? Nah, let's attack gaming networks. Pieces of @#$%#$#$%#!!!!
This is an incredibly myopic way of looking at the way that money is made in consoles. Most of the companies don't make money on selling consoles. Rather, they make money on the licenses they earn when games are sold and from the revenue generated from online services. The other issue is that by the author's account, both companies are losing money on each unit sold. The author states that it costs $400 to make a kinect-less X1 and $381 to make a PS4. Sony does not sell the PS4 a...
This is what I don't get. We all agree that the PS4 has better specs. It has a better GPU and better RAM. Those are facts. That superior hardware costs more, so why do all of the Sony fans on this site assume that MS is losing money selling the console at $50 less than the PS4? Not to mention that game console companies usually don't make a lot of consoles. Consoles are like razors. You give away the first one and then charge through the roof for extra blades. These companies ...
First of all, the person writing the article has no idea what they are talking about. Lizard Squad didn't "hack" anything so your credit cards are safe. They guys don't know how to hack. They know how to overwhelm the servers with a denial of server attack that my 4 year old could do.
Author is so right. MCC is a ripoff and a hoke. 4 campaigns and 100+ maps at $60 is a ripoff. Gotta go so I can go play TLOU remastered deal I got for $50.
I have owned every Bungie game and I don't regret this purchase. That said, the game isn't as good as it could have been. I am still really not sure what I am supposed to be doing and I am halfway through the game. The guns are typical Bungie style (meaning great), but the battles seem repetitive. The style of the game deserves a 9 or 10, but the game itself is only a 6. I feel like some Sony fans are giving it a higher rating because of the exclusive content. I will say this - De...
I love Bungie, but the lack of reviews is troubling. Makes you wonder what they are worried about. As to reviews coming out quickly or upon launch, when did we create this new "play-for-a-month-before- you-review" standard?
Bullcrap. The reason people steal is that there is a belief by many that the internet should be free. Gamers steal games because they can and it is so easy. They are cheap and have no regard for the amount of time and money that companies put into these games. It has nothing - NOTHING to do with exclusivity deals. That is a cop out and it is a weak justification for theft.
Whether it was a success or not depends on how you define "success". I believe that MS has sold 3 million X1's. According to this story, 2/3 of those people bought the title. A 66% attachment Tate for any title is pretty fsmn good. That said, it is unclear whether Titanfall moved new sales of X1 units. So it all depends on whether you view the attachment rate or it being a system seller in defining success.
Too bad because PS4 owners won't touch this game as it only runs at 30 fps. ;)
I see. Four complete games in the vault and early access to demos for $30 a year is a rip off, but $5 for 4 hours of one streamed PlayStation Now is a bargain. The only people that don't think this is a good deal are either MS haters, EA haters, or both.
I disagree with the author, but only because I define "success" differently than he does. A successful console is defined as one that makes the company money. I don't know the answer to that question, but that is what will define the success (or failure) of the console.
You are trading in your X1 for an additional co-op map, a competitive map and some skins? I don't get it. I could see trading in your X1 if Destiny was a Sony exclusive until 2015, but it is only some content that is delayed.
That is what I don't get about the "rage". I am psyched about this game and I would be really disappointed if I had to wait a year to get it on my machine. But that isn't the case. The game comes out the same day on the X1 a...
With all due respect, that isn't what Spencer said. Spencer said, "[DX12] will help developers on XBOX One. It’s not going to be a massive change but will unlock more capability for devs.” So he admitted that it won't be a "massive" change, but never said that it wouldn't improve performance in general. You might be right in the end about how much it improves (or doesn't improve) the X1, but I think we should accurately state what he said.
I have no doubt that the game will be better on PS4, but it isn't like the X1 isn't getting the game. We get it the same day. Some of you people make it sounds like we have to wait 6-12 months to get the game at all. We just have to wait for the dlc. Who cares? I didn't buy the X1 for times exclusives of any kind. I bought it because more of my friends are in love and I am a big Halo/Gears fan.
There are more PS4 consoles and Sony is marketing the game now so I agree that it will sell better on PS4. That said, I disagree that Destiny will be anything like Halo. It isn't an exclusive so I can get pretty much the same experience on a X1. I think Uncharted will define define the PS4 more than Destiny ever could.
Halflife 3.
The other character is the player. The Kinect's character will map the player's face in a pre-game setup. The game will then map that face to the character's model putting the player truly in the game. It would be the most awesome way to use Kinect and it will come with the first "flagship" X1 title.
This is the first article that "gets it". These companies don't usually profit from hardware - they profit from game licenses and services. MS losses all of that is they can't get you onto their next gen ecosystem. Consoles are like razors. Get them to buy a razor system cheap and then punish them with replacement blades that only work for that razor system. Microsoft made the beat decision they could.
