I understand the analogy, but don't accept its accuracy. A movie doesn't cost $60. So yes, the Order is longer than a 2 hour movie, but it also costs 4-5 times more than the movie ticket does. That doesn't make the Order a bad game - I am simply rejecting the analogy that you are drawing.

I don't understand why people are so upset with the reviewers. The reviewer's job is to rate the game based on their subjective criteria. They give the game a rating, score or review and you either accept it or reject it.

If you want the game so badly - if you absolutely need to experience this game for yourself - then buy it. Go to the store or download the damn thing. You can decide whether it was a good or bad investment of your $60. That said, don't tel...

All of his is BS. Sony fans are claiming "quality over quantity" but there is a tipping point. Taken to a ridiculous point, no one could possibly claim that a beautiful 1 hour game would be worth $60 because it was one friggimawesome, amazing hour. I don't know where the acceptable line for value is, but we ALL have one and don't pretend you don't. That said, X1 fans should own up to the reality that this game probably could run on the X1 at all - regardless of whether ...

The game is beautiful, but looks like RAD was too focused on mixing a game with a movie.

There is too much hate for the game, but Sony fanboys are being a little disingenuous. They would be killing this game if this was out on the X1. The game looks amazing, but that is partly because of the bars on the top and bottom of the screen that resemble the style of film, but also allow the game to draw less pixels at any given time. Sony fans have been killing X1 games for hav...

I don't know about anyone else, but I have purchased games just because they look awesome. This might be a good game or if might suck. One thing is for sure, it looks amazing. That said, the author is right and the black bars. They aren't there just for store. Having them there saves a lot of pixels from being drawn so the graphics come at a cost Ready at Dawn makes it seen like they are only for store, but the game couldn't run to screen them.

Let me start by saying that own a X1.

I didn't understand why they purchased it at the time, but then I read an article that made it all make sense. They don't need to make 2.5 billion back. Rather, they simply need to make as much money owning the game that they would have otherwise made on interest in having that money in their coffers. There is so much MS hate that many people forget just how much money this company has in the bank. Don't worry about them making money.

Linear games aren't good or bad, but I do think that they affect the value of a game. A linear game that only has 10 hours of game play and no MP has a value problem (at least for some gamers). It doesn't make it good or bad, but it might make it less of a value against a game that has 40 hours of stuff to do or MP modes that can leaf to 100's of hours of gaming. The Order seeems like it will be a beautiful game that most players will play one time for $60.

Great article. I Have an X1, but this game is beautiful. That does not, however make it a great game. Some people will love it and others won't. Some of the damage control is over the top. Buy the game if you like the concept. You'll probably enjoy it regardless of whether it is innovative or not.

By this token, Just Dance was innovative. It didn't make it a good game.

A couple of things. First, I have to admit that I have purchased games for "eye candy". That said, this article does seem like an excuse for incoming lackluster reviews. Always felt that Dualshockers was a based site for Sony and this article kind of proves it.

I don't think most people care if it is 30 or 60 fps, but many of the Sony crowd made 60 fps a litmus test for what makes a good game. I own a X1, but Uncharted 4 is the most compelling reason to pick up a PS4. The game looks amazing and it is from the most talented developer on the planet. Let the developer do what they think is best. You will love the finished product.

Wrong. Both networks got hit, but don't apologize for Sony. Reality is that MS has a better network. It isn't about loving their customers more or something like that. Rather, it is about experience in this area (they have been online since 2002 vs. 2006 for PSN) and money (MS has been charging fees for XBL for that same amount of time while PSN for the most part was free for most users). There is no question that the PS4 has more powerful specs and we can argue about which conso...

This article is like a Sony infomercial. PS4 is doing grrat, but the author should put Hus cheer leading outfit back into his closet.

The PS4 is unquestionably a more powerful console spec wise, but it is great to see MS using its software background to optimize X1's drivers and memory management techniques to increase performance. D12 will bring further improvements. That said, Sony isn't sitting still and while they don't seem to be optimizing their code at the same pace, they will eventually be using similar advancements in coding. At that point the PS4 should show its true colors. The only remaining wild...

I would rather developers focus on delivering new experiences than focus on 1080p. I love graphics, but I have played amazing games that didn't run at 1080p and shitty games that did run at 1080p. 1080p does not make a bad game good.

I own a X1, but I don't recall hearing developers bitch about latency in regard to GDDR5 memory.

The announcement will involve cross play between the PC and X1. The next major X1 update is rumored to have a Win10 kernel. It won't allow PC players to play XBox 1 games, but many games already come out on PC as well.

Nintendo fans site Wii sales during the past generation as being the reason it "won" the last gen. All of the sudden, sales of this gen don't matter. Funny how that works.

Nintendo is an amazing company that created some of the best games and has introduced revolutionary hardware. That said, Wii U is hardly selling well. This is not an indictment. It is a fact. Nintendo might make great games but those games aren't selling new consoles.
