PSP2 is going to give the 3DS a run for its money if it's priced at $300 or less. If the PSP2 is $250, matching the 3DS price for price, it will have no problem keeping pace. Price is key. I hope a price is given for the PSP2 so I can decide if I'm getting it at launch or not.
Of course the whole "Holy crap, it's 3D" aspect of the 3DS will help it attract the younger audience. Personally, I can take it or leave it when it comes to 3D on a mobile devi...
There's a solution to that. I was worried too til I thought about it. They could map L2 and R2 to the touch pad, so PS2 games or PS3 remotely-played games on the PSP2 could still be a possibility!!!

Yes, there is a physical L1 and R1, but he was referring to it not having 2 shoulder buttons on EACH side. The trackpad can act as the extra two shoulder buttons, I'm sure.
@cgoodno Yeah, people would comp...
Sounds like a good idea to make some extra money. Of course the better games from the PSP21 won't be able to be run on the iPhone, but I'm assuming it's just talking about the content that's gonna run on Android.
Yeah someone's gonna be playing Team Deathmatch on Call of Duty on the PSP2 and say something dumb like "I'm gonna shoot your ass" right in the middle of a bank or something and they're gonna get thrown in jail. haha So funny.
I want a San Andreas remake in HD on my PS3 actually, but it would still be cool to see it on the PSP2. Man imagine if they were able to make games that you bought one copy and were able to play it on the PS3 AND the PSP2. Now that feature would be beast.
As much as I'd like to laugh at your comment and click agree (because I'm love with the PSP2 and don't care for the 3DS), I'm not going to. I can't stand it when people say stuff like "teh" and "bu bu bu" or "teh salez" and all that retarded immature crap. And I'm rooting for the PSP2 , but all that immature crap you just said just isn't necessary.
I'm pretty sure you'll still be able to swap games with each other as long as y'all buy the cartridge version and not the downloadable version. But even with the downloadable version, if you guys use the same account for both PSP2's then it'll still be a non-issue as you'll be able to use the game on up to 5 devices just like PS3 games.
Yeah it's like an augmented reality camera view. Very impressive!
lol Back to Middle Earth to play with the Orks and Elves, Frodo!!
We're in the same boat, brother. More than $300 and I'm gonna have to wait, unfortunately. I hate even saying that cause this damn thing is just all kinds of awesome in one device! I want one like now!
I know one thing that track pad, touch screen, and motion controls are all going to make for some cool new ways to play portable games
This looks good, but as long as it gets that CoD game like has been announced, people will buy the PSP2, and lots of people. Even 360 folk will buy a PSP2 just to play CoD online on the go! I just hope they keep the price at $300 or less in some form or fashion. Maybe 3G version $350 and Wifi version at $300. Would be a decent price point, but really the price needs to be around $250 Wifi/ $300 3G. That would compete better against the 3DS. I think Sony has learned its lesson with initi...
Yes!!! Full remote play functionality (minus Move games) on the PSP2 would be a HUGE feature to market the device!!!
Yeah imagine if they make the PSP2 and PS3 be able to play online Call of Duty with each other. Some people are on their PSP2's via wifi or 3G and some people are on PS3's and they can play Team Deathmatch/FreeForAll/etc. cross platform against each other. That will guarantee success. CoD, as much as I hate it personally, will guarantee the PSP2 to be successful on launch and thereafter. All those CoD Xbox-only gamers will likely pick one of these up JUST to be able to get their ...
Yeah the battery life won't be hugely impressive, but who cares man? Most people aren't going to be playing it on the go for more than a couple hours. Most people play their portable on the couch, truth be honest. A CoD game on the PSP2 will guarantee sales for the device, that and an Uncharted and Killzone and Metal Gear Solid games, etc. etc. There will be killer games on the PSP2. Guaranteed!
Yeah if there's a Modern Warfare 3 port for PSP2 this year, the PSP2 will sell even more than it's already going to. Call of Duty fans will clamor for the PSP2, even people who game only on the 360. They'll even buy a PSP2 just to play CoD online on the go.
Actually I think Apple could pull it off if they could get the games to run on Apple TV they'd already have a decent install base. Imagine the next Apple TV being able to play mini games or possibly motion games like the Wii or PS Move using the iPhone/iTouch/iPad. So we could play motion games with our iPhones etc. It's not too farfetched. Just imagine how many iPhones there are already on the market for people to use as controllers. I think people would eat that s...
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Or maybe like that NeoGeo controller for playing NeoGeo games on the PS3. It would be cool if they came out with Genesis games on PSN and have a Genesis controller compatible with PS3 to play them with. I'd love to play Sonic 2 and 3 again with the old controller.
Off topic: damn I love this iPad!! LoL
I just don't see Sega coming back any time soon. Just because there's more platforms doesn't necessarily mean more game consumers. The number of gamers is not going to magically increase because of a new Sega console. It will only further segment the number of gamers now. Do you really think the old Sega fans have held out and not bought a different console by now? And let's say they do. They're just gonna get a copy of the game on the Sega console instead, w...
That's what she said. haha
On topic, I'll take a black one. White would get too dirty too easy.
