Because that's one of the platforms it was developed for?
Not really sure what you're asking.
the NG+ and onwards is significantly harder in Demons Souls, whereas in Dark Souls each additional play only felt very slightly harder than the last.
I think that was probably a good call though given that you had to do 3 runs at least to get the platinum.
or just someone who didnt play the first one and couldve done with a recap. or am i supposed to "just know" what happened in the first one?
dick.
I dont have a problem with figuring out how to do something, the prob I had was just not knowing what it was I had to figure out - I was wandering around trying to this quest and then suddenly out of the blue this message appeared saying "New quest phase started", immediately followed by a "Quest Failed" message, which threw me a bit as I was like "WTF??"
Like I say, ive no doubt it gets a lot better, and I think the score is too low - but the gu...
"i suppose its targeted more at guys like me who play things such as dark souls for the same exact reason"
Given that I have the platinum's in both souls games, thats unlikely to be the reason I didnt get on with it.
Not at all, I'm not a fan of hand-holding in games - my favourite games of all time are demons souls and dark souls which have none of that.
The problem I had with this was the storyline was utterly baffling for a newcomer to the series, the combat felt overly finicky - aiming throwing daggers and activating signs was very awkward.
The biggest issue i had though was the quest log - one quest I had early on gave no information on what I needed to do at all...
Agree 100% with this review, picked up the game today expecting big things but had the same issues described in the review - combat felt really weak, the quest log/minimap confusing, and the story totally baffling. Very disappointing.
Hear, hear - maybe then we can all forget that Dino Crisis 3 ever happened, one of the most disappointing (and outright terrible) games i ever had the misfortune to spend £40 on
New Onimusha or Dino Crisis and I'm a happy man
There was a story going around a while back about they considered a bunch of different names before deciding on dark souls - one was dark ring, another (which they wisely decided against) was dark race

Looks like it could be a red-herring, just looked at the video on the official site and cant see any sign of that image - might be a mistake that its listed among the other images
hmmm interesting...

the plot thickens...
Not necessarily, Dark Souls was originally going to be called something very different like Dark Ring if I remember right.
I'm thinking (hoping) this could be a spin-off from the Souls series for the handheld, with proper sequels reserved for home consoles
Agree completely, it wasnt the best shooter in the world but it was enjoyable enough and really doesnt deserve a place on this list - ive played far far worse games this generation, ie Matt Hazzard, X-Blades, Ninja Gaiden 3, Operation Raccoon City, Tenchu Z, etc
HAHAHA define "better". A slate with no buttons/thumbsticks is not a better games machine than a home console.
Fact.
You're right - choice is a terrible, terrible thing
Couldnt agree more, fed up of seeing "You are the controller" being stated in adverts as though its a great thing
Im not sure its bias as such, more the fact that most games on IOS are wank.
Those locked doors that wont open because they're experiencing downtime are just the worst.
