Wow, this is a hard one. Well, I would say the SNES. I remember the ridiculous hours I played Street Fighter II with friends. A very close second would be PS1.
Fully agree with everything you said. People seem to forget how difficult it was to develop for the PS3. The Cell(although powerful) was completely different for its time. Plus it was custom built.
Anyone with a half a brain should realize that if it was difficult to develop for then how difficult would it be to fully emulate it along the RSX graphics chip.
As long as Sony and MS continue to go with AMD and x86 architecture then BC will be a much easier...
The thing is that console developers (majority of them) always will choose graphics over framerate. It's been that way since I been gaming. I don't know why gamers are so surprised by how these consoles are performing.
If your an OG gamer like me then you know the game. Now we have the no patience entitled expect everything for nothing always complaining tough guys typing on keyboard gamers.
And it's only going to get worse as the new systems come out....
I pretty sure it will. The way things are looking for both companies, it seems that BC is high up on the priorities. Especially since both are x86 now and both doing mid gen upgrades or full upgrades to some of you who think that way.
Plus, since having AMD on board again will make that process much easier....

Developers are always going to squeeze as much as they from consoles. Plus this is "Technically" Santa Monica 's 1st game. Imagine what their next game will look like. Remember the difference between GOW and part 2 on PS2?

Why the hell would you buy something that you don't like? You say you think the game is mediocre (sorry you don't completly hate it) yet you are going to buy it once it's $30. And on top of that, you won't play the game more than twice?!?!? Am I missing something? I have really heard it all now.

Well I bought a 4k TV last Black Friday. I would love for these new consoles to do 4k to take advantage of my investment.
On the other hand, if they can do 1080p at 60 fps(maybe higher 1440p) with better effects/graphics etc. then I would be happy. I'm not going to be unrealistic and think these machines can pump out 4k games at 60 like it's nothing.
All I hear on this sight now is resolution and framrates. What if these consoles can only do 4k at...

If it is indeed more powerful, say the 5.5 Tflops, then that wouldn't be bad at all. That would pretty much be the power difference now and apparently certain fanboys day you can't tell the difference now. Wonder if that will change if this turns out to be true. The goalposts will move on both sides. It gonna get ugly....if we get something over 5 Tflops I will be in heaven and really surprised....can't wait....
What Goldby said with his 8 years comment plus they put out a system for $400 because people complained that the PS3 was too high of a launch price. Both companies could have easily made consoles that were 10 times as powerful but people would have complained about the price.

Well, obviously, everyone's not going to like VR. This one person won't like it but someone else will. That's with everything in life. If that's the case then everything would sell 1 to 1 with consoles.....but it is good to here both sides of the equation.
