The big "IF". It's pretty easy to say if they were released at the same time with the same exact specs Xbox would have sold a lot more. But the fact is that PS2 was already out in Japan with finalized specs on paper when M$ decided to make Xbox. The result was a more powerful machine made with off the shelf parts and a loss of $4 billion.

Well if you look at the PS3 base model you are actually just paying $100 bucks for a blu ray player(it actually is useful for this version because of the secret pact).All the other features are comparable to a $400 360. I use my game systems for playing my movies and never ran into any problems with a collection of over 200 dvds. As long as the movies play it's good enough for me. Maybe you need to go back and read the article a little more carefully. The PS3 will be able to output at full resolution. Read the part under hdmi pact. If that's the case what's the point for M$ to release an hd-dvd add on if the movies aren't high def.

Um..that's what they are doing. People tend to forget that Sony is a hardware company and that they have competition in every division of their company. The PS2 was an is still a great console. You got me there. I forgot unreal engine only works for 360.And I've watched the trailer for GoW many times on marketplace. That game couldn't possibly run on a PS3. Of course you believe everything PS3 related no matter who says it. I just remembered that they're using a different engine for UT2k7. That game looks horrible. Nice top 10 spot though.
