if sony is holding back retail units from the media because there is an overheating problem , and it doesn't want people to cancel preorders , it a major story and borderline fraud .
most of those devs are talking about dev kits not retail version , we'll find out soon enough if there is a problem
i'd give ps4 a 6 , xbox one a 7 . once second son and titanfall hit raise the number 1 each for launch window .
@lu lack of theoretical numbers , i agree there is the beginnings of circumstantial case , nothing more until these consoles are in the wild . allot of other factors goes into a consoles success .

@ Ju "on paper" is only that , get a more reliable picture when the machine are in the wild and independently tested . if you remember there was allot of hot bs flying around during last gen including cell's in different appliances being used for gaming . as we get more evidence the truth will become clearer , no matter what the final verdict turns out to be .
hope its not true about the ps4 , its very unlikely the xb1 will have that issue , its basically all vents and has a huge fan .
@vigilante_man if you believed early rumor of last generation you could have come to the conclusion the ps3 was less powerful than the 360 , although it turned out to be development issue with the cell and unreal engine . just as there is not enough evidence today only hints than can make people draw the wrong conclusion . we'll have a much better picture when these console are out and tested and the next batch of games arrive
come now , if you want to believe rumors as fact go ahead . i'm not ruling it out as a possibility just that you can't confirm it as the cause . and even the most staunch xbot fan can't claim that the ps4 must be easy to develop for and may have a slight power advantage , whether that coverts into a big difference down the road , is opinion not fact . and for the record i would put myself in the sony camp , although i have and will own both systems .
its a big assumption that the ESRAM bottleneck is the issue holding the xb1 from 1080p . it could just be the late final dev kits getting out and a extremely shortened dev time ,or something else , we have no idea , we won't know if there is an issue until we see the next batch of games .
everyone should remember that during the last generation launch ps3 games ran like crap and it obviously had nothing to do with the systems power , same issue with this launch even if the ps4 is slightly more powerful .
reminds me of the ps2 but not so much that it looks old or outdated , but it does look a little more like a toy compared to the xbox one
What hysterical sky is falling BS . Its not hard to defend the higher price or the resolution issue . the price is kinect and more feature whether you decide if its worth the money is completely up to you as a consumer . if different reporters are being told the resolution will be fix in the next round of games , and the the launch games were because of time crunch and late os changes , why should they say any different

could just be sellers panicking as the dates get close , don't want to be stuck with a bunch of consoles you can't make a profit on , or worse get stuck buying them . could be some nasty credit card bills , if they don't offload them in time
its 1080 , the only thing we can say for sure is the ps4 is slightly more powerful , and it appears its easier to develop for , multiple reporters from different websites have said this is a launch issue and will be resolved in the next batch of games
not quite as good as the xbox one's , but i'm not buying either system for launch games ,just buying and waiting for second son and titanfall
