Nah. I'm willing to bet that UC4 will win more GOTY awards than anything released this year.
I'm all for taking your time, that's how you avoid getting broken games. But my god, quit announcing games so damn early than! It's seems this gen games either get released broken, or they get delayed cause they were given a premature release date.
I don't see the hype surrounding this game, from what I've seen im not impressed. Graphical showcase? It looks good but nothing spectacular. Gears 1&2 were superb, but this franchise has been lagging since imo.
True. But also consumers are used to upgrading their phones since its been something consistently done since the brick phone. The gaming community isn't used to having to upgrade to a new piece of hardware every 3 years, also a console doesn't do nearly as much as your portable cell phone. I'm all for the upgrade honestly, I think 3 years is plenty of time and now I'm ready for an upgrade. But I can understand why some may be upset, especially if you just decided to purchase a...
I agree, $499 may be a little steep. Still sell it at $399 and offer a trade in value, that would be the best way to convince consumers to make the jump. $200 out of pocket isn't asking too much.
It can be brilliant or catastrophic lol. How many of the 40 million consumers would be willing to upgrade to the NEO? And what conversion percentage is required for their to be substantial profit? There's still people whom haven't taken that next gen leap yet too, would the NEO be enough to convince them to make it, or a PS4 price drop enough to get them to finally upgrade? There's a lot of question Sony needs to address otherwise there's going to be a lot of speculation. Don&...
i agree with the discounted PS4 part. Sony still wants to profit from a PS4 but I think their mindset at this point might be that they've profited enough from the PS4 and want to take a risk with the NEO to see if it can even improve sales. Only thing is they jeopardize it making the PS4 obsolete on the market, if you're contemplating buying a PS4 why not just wait till the NEO comes out and get it for $50 more. Unless however as you said it's cheaper, but it'd have to be much...
I think in order for this thing to appeal to consumers it'll need to be a drastic improvement over the current PS4 specs, they'll need to convince people that this is a wise investment to make, especially to the 40 million ppl that have already supported your console. Thing is with technology today consumers will support something like this regardless of how upset they are simply cause it's an advancement in technology and ppl want to have the latest tech. My only question is wher...
True. But you also got to remember that Xbox is just a division in the MS brand, a power corporation like that wouldn't hesitate to shut it down if sales weren't being reached at the desired rate. I think something small is already being done with the closing of multiple FPS and converting a lot of exclusives to PC as well. However the one is outselling the 360 at this point which is good, but how much does it cost to maintain manufacturing of the hardware as I'm sure it's mor...
I agree, I don't think it's really the exclusives for Sony that has pushed the PS4 up to this point, we got some great ones like BB and RC but the heavy hitters haven't arrived yet. That's why I think 2016 may be the best year for Sony yet, with UC4 and Horizon they have an opportunity to really attract late buyers or consumers of a rival platform.
I think this whole PS4.5 can negatively affect Sony if they don't address the rumors. Right now the only sensible reaction from consumers is to withhold from purchasing a PS4 till Sony confirms the consoles existence or non existence. I don't think that means people will purchase an X1 instead, I just think it means the PS4s sales could drop slightly till Sony ends the silent treatment.
well I think some of these games wouldn't resonate with ppl today the way they would have at the time they were released, especially if you haven't played it. With gaming it benefits you most if you experience games in their generation, I couldn't go back and play a game like The Legend of Dragoon or Donkey Kong Country and think it's going to have the kind of profound effect today it had when I played it upon its initial release, had I never played it. Games today are just so...
I really have a feeling this will be their best game yet, which would be mind blowing to me.
Yup, this guy also told me that the games will drop jaws and be mind blowing. Didn't tell me when to expect a release date but he said to expect to see it soon (e3). The only insider I trust.
Wow u took the words right out of my mouth man. I also feel as though gaming has been underwhelming this gen or I just lost some interest in it. A lot of games ppl praised and thought were amazing(witcher 3, dragon age, MGS5) I couldn't really get into and unlimately found them ok. The Division is the latest culprit, I think the Coop aspect of it is fun but the game is extremely repetitive and ultimately lacks substance. Destiny I'd also accuse of the same thing but I did enjoy that u...
Good for you!! Seriously have your own opinion man and don't let fanboys decide for you. What'd you enjoy about it most? Personally I thought it was average myself, a bit of a bummer considering how much I wanted to enjoy it. Only UC4 would hurt more at this point if it sucks lol.
@morgue
Lol yea I hear ya. I'd also give this game a solid 6/10 which for me means it's ok but I wouldn't recommend it. I'm sorry but those long cutscenes completely took me out of the game, especially since I was never that invested. I had to force myself to complete the game, I wouldn't call it terrible either tho. Angry Joes review was right on the money for me lol, some things may have annoyed him more tho.
Cause he provides visual proof a lot of us can't deny lol
He tended to nitpick on a few things but for the most part this review is spot on. So many things I found horrendous about this game he highlights, for me it's the cutscenes and the feel of the game itself. Watching 20 min scenes really took me out of the experience, and since the story wasn't that great imo I really dreaded having to watch them. The best parts about the game are the time powers themselves, but even then while they were utilized greatly in combat scenarios I really wa...
Fall Out came out in 2015. And a new Red Dead in 2016 would definitely make the competition stiff for UC4 but I honestly don't see that happening lol. Fingers crossed though lol.
