I don't wish closure on any development studio. It's clear Ninja Theory have some talented people working for them. That being said, I think the people in decision-making positions, like the ones making final call on how the game should look and play, are utter shit. So if the worst does happen to NT, then I wish for the talented people of their staff to find jobs among other companies that have better direction.
Thanks for the reply.
I'd love to hear what the people who disagreed with me think, but they probably didn't think anything at all. Easier to click disagree for no reason that to think up compelling arguments.
Just find an online wiki if you need more accurate information.
To me, it's one thing for an end-user to bash Kinect. We're not getting paid to think up creative ways to use it to enhance a gamer's experience.
But for a dev to say something like this, just shows a complete lack of imagination. We rely on these guys to provide us with interesting and innovative gameplay mechanics, and all he can come with is "would be horribly boring"?
I don't have much faith in Kinect, but like I said I'm not...
But this is just going overboard!
When I make a point about wanting devs to create innovative experiences set in WW2 rather than another generic shooter, and someone's entire reply is based around the fact that I used the word "bad" while making my point, that's the very definition of nit-picking.
Completely ignored my point in order to correct my use of a single word. That's not criticism. Criticism would have been taking into account my opinion, and arguing with that. But as soon as he...
Seems asking questions is very hard for you. But I'll ignore the part where you act like your questions are above me and answer anyway. But hopefully next time you want to ask someone's opinion, you won't make it so unappealing for them to answer.
IN ANSWER TO YOUR CONDESCENDINGLY WORDED QUESTION: I do think that they should give you a less challenging option, but that the hard one should be the default mode, not a hidden one.
And if you do get ar...
Yeah, it's got no focal point! Wario, Mario, Yoshi, and that Star are competing to be the center of attention, when Peach is in the ideal spot; Bowser and his crew are way the hell in the corner dividing attention further; and the title isn't prominent enough.
I think if they just dimmed the colors on everything but the Star and title, and made those two bigger, then it could be alright as is.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 should be on there. Was the first game I got when I got a PSP (last summer) and I had no idea the handheld had so much potential!
And Gran Turismo. Maybe not as good as its home console counterparts, but definitely a great portable driving simulator (I do mean driving simulator; not racing... a great time trial simulator!). I play it from time to time to sharpen up on the Nurburgring!
You mean the question you opened with? When you ask a question and then immediately answer it, it makes it sound rhetorical. So no, I did not answer your rhetorical question.
And the reason I did not want to refute your arguments was not because I didn't read your post. I read it and considered that most of what you wrote I had already mentioned in my original comment. Hence why I said I wouldn't "repeat or clarify." Otherwise I would have said: "I won&...
The fuck? People always nit-picking my comments. I dislike playing games with WW2 guns. THAT's all. I don't care that we still use some of them today.
The part where I said I'd be interested in playing an innovative game set in WW2 rather than another cookie-cutter FPS was WAY more important than the one where I used the word "bad", but clearly that went way over your head once you read that SINGLE word.
WW2 guns just don't appeal to me. Unless they're thinking of approaching WW2 from a totally new perspective that doesn't require using bad guns, then I'm in. If they're planning on making another cookie-cutter FPS set in WW2, count me out for sure.
Even without trying I can imagine it's hard to access both triggers effectively without hitting the other one this way.
Also, must be very difficult to properly move the sticks.
But hey, I haven't tried it. Tell me I'm wrong. I always thought controllers could have more buttons on the underside, but this is doing it wrong!
The talking to your friends part was JUST an example. But obviously, since I put that in there, people are only going to read that part now and forget all about everything else I wrote.
I'm not going to reiterate my point, or even clarify it one bit. If you choose to only see it as bragging then fine, read it how you like.
Kind of says something about them as a dev, though, no? That they're willing to sneak the feature in there, but god forbid it should be visible to all gamers! Let alone the *only* way to play the game. NOooo, we still need to cater to the average gamers. But here, you can have your hardcore mode, it's there, tucked away.
From had the balls to make a hardcore game and not compromise. Worked so well for them they made a sequel, and made a name for themselves this gen fo...
I appreciate that they're trying to do something innovative for PC gaming... But I don't think they're headed in the right direction. Just doesn't seem ergonomic at all to me, and has no advantages I can think of over conventional PC gaming. And it's too big to be considered portable, so really it needs to be compared head-on with PCs.
Main advantages of PC gaming:
- Mouse and keyboard
- Flexible hardware (you can easily upgrade it)

For a Final Fantasy game, 8/10 is abysmal.
Agreed.
I played RFoM at launch, and little things like having to shake the controller to get the menials off when they grabbed me was fun and immersive (don't even get me started on how good Sixaxis was in Folklore!), but that was over 5 years ago now. Recently my little cousins started playing RFoM, and they asked me to beat a challenging part for them. Then a menial grabbed hold me and I was like "wtf do I do??!" And they told me I had to shake the controller...
Not lag; framerate!
But I know what you mean. Those damn ghosts going through walls everywhere cause hell on the framerate.
Tip: quit and re-load game. The framerate will go back to normal.
I haven't played it nearly enough yet to judge it, but the little I played I did enjoy. It's a lot faster to kill than I expected it would be. I'd often get OHKed out of nowhere. But I also managed to get some really good multi-kills while being shot at, so you can take a few shots too. I'm gonna go play some more now, get a better opinion!
