Did anyone thing they were going to scrap Vista? Windows 7 is new features built on Vista, 7 even looks like Vista minus some new user interfaces. I personally haven't had any issues with Vista and found it more stable then XP (I use Vista SP1 32 bit on my notebook and tablet notebook). I want to use the 64-bit version one day but drivers and software support aren't there like with the 32-bit version. I guess the intial Vista pre-SP1 blew chunks and left a bad impression. Windows 7 seems...

You can use BootCamp to install Vista or XP on a MAC but you still need a Mac with good gaming specs so expect to spend money. Macs and PCs use the same hardware the only difference is the OS. Once you have a good spec'ed Mac and Vista or XP then you can play any game made for XP or Vista. The Mac is a simpler system and fits most people's needs, Vista is more flexible and allows for more configurations so you can do more, the only problem with that is you get more errors and problems.

All you need is the DVD version the HD DVD disc just has test and images. The DVD is the one with the calibration tools that you will need. I got the HD-DVD version which came with the DVD. I think you can get it in just the DVD version look for it on Amazon Digitial Video Essentials for about $20 or cheaper. I've used it to calibrate a few HDTV tv's it doesn't really work for computer LCDs.

Why would you guys comment on a game based on someones comments or opinion? At least wait until the game comes out or wait to see more opinions/reviews. Anyone can make any game ending sound bad but if you see it you might like it. I wouldn't judge a game because of that (that goes for all games). Also, I always though Gears was going to be trilogy ever since they released Gears 1 so it shouldn't be a suprise there is going to be a Gears 3. It was suppose to alternate with Halo so every ...

There is a large population of folks that still want a next gen gaming console, just look at the numbers from last gen with the game cube, xbox, and PS2. So a 360 cut will not affect the PS3 as much. In my opinion, I think you might a see it get affected as stand alone bluray player price drops. Since there are folks also buying the PS3 just for movies (I know a few of them that bought just for movies) since it's one of the cheapest players out there. However as we get closer to Christmas...

Your Internet speed has little to do with why in COD4 there is lag. It's more of your connection to the host and the response time your getting from the host (the closer you are to the host the faster response). The information you send will get there quick due to your connection speed (25mbps) but if the host doesn't respond fast enough that's what's causing the lag (or it could be someone else that lagging the host cause everyone else to lag). If you want to test your speed and lag or re...

Bluray prices are going down. Amazon has the Samsung BD1500 for $230 with the Ultimate Matrix collection and Costco has a Sylvania player for $225. This will help drive sales through price competition which is always a good thing for the consumers.

Edit: I replied to the wrong comment, meant to comment on 4.

I think everyone should prepare that a lot of games are going multiplatform down the road unless companies are willing to shell out a lot of money to keep them exclusive or develop games themselves. It only makes sense since all companies are out to make money and are developing "white engines" for multiplatform games. So if a game was developed on one, a port is possible if that company thinks it's feasible. If they do think it is they will make it happen even if it is large and...

What are you guys talking about, DELL has coupons that reduce the price of the 360. It's not a MS offer, please read before you comment. It is a good deal though $50 of a pro bundle for $250 and 2 games. So get them while it's still good if you want one.

Edit: there is a number limit of uses before it is no good also (350 for the elite)

If your going to use Amazon make sure you go to all of Amazon's websites, amazon.com is only US, there is one for Canada, UK, Japan etc... to allow for a "better" picture of sales.

Um isn't the gamerzone supposed to be unbiased or neutral and fanboyism suppose to be in the open zone? As much as I enjoy the comments can another zone be opened for unbiased comments?

MS should just sell the 20gb as an accessory for $20 so all core owners can just buy it then have to go through check to see if they qualify for a 20gb or 512 mb and advertise it as an option. This way "eventually" all 360's will have HDs in them and as HDs get bigger and cheaper install the 20gb on future 360's as a minimum for all arcades as live gets better and bigger. Just my opinion.

As long as Netflix launches it doesn't matter, I don't see a lot of people using this feature -meaning watching a movie with a friend over Live.

Your right, price has to be right for new owners. For existing ones it doesn't matter (the install base) as much since they already own the system and are looking for a player so value arguments don't apply. For new users they will have to weigh the value of a PS3 vs a 360 and overall costs. I think $150 is a good price point, I don't think it would be cheaper.

If you think about it they can use it for games with the install option in the Fall update for Live. However, that would mean that MS would have to introduce bigger drives and have 2 product lines for games one for DVDs and one for blurays, but it may be possible.

I would rather get a stand alone player (which I plan on getting) there was one at Costco for $225 when I went there last Friday. So their getting close to $200 or the sweet spot for the average joe.

You do realize HDMI 1.2 and 1.3 are specs for an interface that carries digital sound and video right?

6348d ago 2 agree5 disagreeView comment

What it really comes down is how you perceive value. Do you want everything a PS3 offers for $399 or do you want a 360 and what it offers for the 3 different price points. So I think a lot of the arguments are just opinions for that person on why you should buy or to justify a purchase. So it's a matter of what you value more that leads you to justify the cost. Once you pay it who cares just enjoy your system.

I think the clerk was trying to make some commission or something. The arcade comes with a wireless controller, you don't need wifi unless you don't have an ethernet port close by to use a RJ-45 cable, but to play games you do need xbox live for $40-50 a year. Now all this goes out the window if their are 2 people that will be playing at the same time (so you need 2 controllers) but then no console comes with 2 controllers standard and if he only has wifi then he will need to buy one, which...
