I'm going to laugh if everyone buys it up thinking it's a new OS and thought Vista was bad. Check this out I figure out why it's called Windows 7 (version 7). I've been using Windows for I while so this where I think 7 came from!

WinNT= v4
Win 2000 = v5
Win XP = v6
Win Vista = v7 renamed to Win Seven (can you say Mojave Project in affect....LOL)

Why would they do that, isn't that why the came out with trilogies? Just shows you that game developers are out to make money not matter what they tell you things like it's about the fans. It's more like it's about the fans and the money fans put in the devs pocket.

Actually Costco has a Sylvania bluray player on sale for $179 right now.

I agree on some of his points on being family oriented and price. I think the reason why the Wii is popular is due to Wii Sports, the Wii controller, and how both are easy to learn, simple to use for casual or non-gaming folks to get going with in 5 min. Try to give someone that casually games or doesn't game a 360 controller and let them play Gears 2 for the first time and you'll know what I mean.

Especially when people don't have a lot of time to game and want to have some ...

Who cares? I got Gears 2, it's not like I'm not going to play and finish it, it's a game so far. Though it is very childish to ruin it for people that want to find out about the ending on their own. Fanboys just ruin everything on both sides just enjoy your consoles and play your games.

Also, I think it's funny how when you post comments in the Gamer Zone it reads:

"The Gamer Zone is for members who want a more friendly and civilized discussion. This secti...

I've been playing it for half a day on and off (Amazon shipped early!). The story so far is better then Gears 1 and the graphics are sharper, the tunnels and underground in Act 1 look great and clearer (scenery). I'm not sure where the Dom's wife thing is leading but overall I like it better then Gears 1.

I agree Linux has tight permissions if it is implemented correctly but it can still get a virus, it's very unlikely but not improbable. Here is interesting read:

I do know when you have average PC users there is going (14k) there is going to be a large amount of calls to customer support, people have problems with using Windows with coroporat...

Well I hope they stand up a helpdesk with and lots of system administrators, with 14k computers and using Linux there are going to be a lot of users that don't know how to use it. Expect support labor to increase dramatically with cost savings in a few years (after users figure out how to use it). Also, Linux does have viruses just not as much as Windows (google linux virus), that's why there is anti-virus software on Linux now which also includes the Apple OS too (built off Linux).

There is a simple solution if Metacritic wants to be taken seriously. Require an age limit of 18 with proof such as a credit card. Anyone under 18 can join and review but cannot provide a rating number. This will cut down on the fanboy reviews and make reviewers responsible for their reviews/actions.

I'm not sure why there are so many of these articles lately, the fact is Bluray is the defacto standard for physical HD media until something else comes along to take it's place so I doubt any company that supports bluray is going to jump off the band wagon. So these articles are pretty much useless. I do agree holiday sales will indicate if consumers are ready to buy into it and we should wait for the sales numbers before judging. I'm personally waiting for it to drop to $150 or less. <...

I agree Christmas will be good for bluray the great deals happening now and coming up. However, when you get a $69 dvd player that upscales to 1080p it's kinda hard to spend $199 even though it's not HD. Plus you have spend more for movies to there is even a bigger upcost then just buying a player. To be honest most people just don't care about HD formats until they get an HDTV to start with. I've known "regular folks" that thought they were getting HD when they bought a HDTV us...

The DK is a great movie and will sell players, however I think after HD priorities are done people will buy players when the get cheaper. What I mean is after you buy a HDTV what do you get next. I think for most people it will be something you use everyday like cable or satellite (HD signal), then a HD player, then speakers and receiver, etc. By that time how much money do you have left. So price will be a big factor.

The other thing is DVD companies have confused the mass...

They should focus and create a game where the PS3, 360, and Wii could interface on a game server world wide and everyone (each console) could play each other for bragging rights and see which console has the better players. Even have tropies or achievements for it too. Make it epic so smaller battles (per region) add into a the larger console war updated daily. That would be interesting.

I like how everything that comes out is a "killer" of something. Sales numbers will determine if it is a "iPhone killer or G-1 killer" or it just is a dud. Just like how the G-1 is an iPhone killer just wait and see if it takes off to do that.

Edit:I do admit AT&T pricing for the iPhone stinks and has limited the iPhone (no tethering to name one) and Apple is anti-competitive with the AppStore. So if the G-1/Storm does take off hopefully it will open...

The PS3 can't keep up with the price or pace of stand alones which will eventually hit $150 soon (check out bluray deals on Amazon and black friday deals) and $99 in a few years if not sooner with more advanced chips. It just means Sony needs to really focus on games and advertise the console as a gaming system (which they are doing now but it will take time) with a player, rather then a bluray player with gaming features (they have in the past) which was good in the past when it was the che...

I'm confused from reading the article and comments, looks to me Little Big Planet sold with a Dual Shock (DS3)bundle right (game and controller no console)? 30k and not a PS3 bundle (game and console)that information is excluded.

Edit, I think some folks just read it wrong thinking it was console sales numbers. Anyways just enjoy the game.

You forgot to say based on the basic model with a 4 cylinder (in the fine print), while they show your the super deluxe model....lol

6321d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's the way corporations market their products. When is the last time you saw a basic model on tv for any product? Everyone puts the top of the line model then at the end you see these fine prints you can barely read on the screen. Marketing is basically stretching the truth to sell things but not enough where it is totally false.

I agree, Apple should open the OS to other PC hardware platforms. I think they would make some serious money. From my understanding there is something in the OS instruction code and something in a Mac bios that prevents any PC hardware platform to do so. If you really want to run a Mac OS on a PC system you have to really hack the system to do so, basically a pain. I really would like to use the OS because it's more secure and is Linux based but not really buy a Mac to do so (it's too exp...
