We don't need better graphics/hardware.

Some of the best games this generation didn't have high end current generation graphics. Heck, some had PS4 or even PS3 level graphics.

A lot of the games this generation that had the best graphics were either sub par, or it was not the reason that made them great. (Heck, no game that just has amazing graphics and nothing else, is great)

How can people say this was one of the worst generat...

It's weaker than a base Ps5 and that came out 5 years ago.
Maybe makes a good indie game machine for those that don't have a PC. That's about all its good for.

WOW - what a lineup. Seriously?!
Silent Hill 2, V Rising, Yakuza Like A Dragon, Until Dawn.

Why does the article use misleading terms like "Crushes" and "The 9070 XT "HANDILY BEATS" the more expensive RTX 5080" ? It even admits it at the end of the article, yet keeps the terms lol

Looking at the graph, the difference is only 4-19fps, depending on the settings.

I would hardly call a 4-19fps difference, "crushes" or "handily beats" and no one is going to buy a 9070 over a 5080 for COD alone. How d...

I never said anything about the Switch 2 console itself. I am talking about in general.

Typical Nintendo strategy. Only provide reduced amount of stock, say its “selling out” and create artificial demand.

UE5 strikes again. This has got to be one of the most poorly optimised engines around.

"On PC, however, performance was initially less stable until DLSS in quality mode was enabled, which restored a steady 60 fps at 4K resolution."

"Now, we have a 2 TB Xbox Series X that actually costs $50 more than the also-2 TB PS5 Pro"

I seriously had to read this 3 or so times and try and process it. lol

How dare people who spent thousands on their PC want the superior 4K native image quality over upscaling!

“Run at 1440p and use DLSS, because we can’t bother to optimise”

Heeere we go again.
Lets blame this all on video games, because you can't be bothered to address the mental health/instability of people, because it's too much effort, so lets blame it on something else and make it "look" like you are addressing gun violence and actually care in the first place.

Rightfully so. The greed made them blind to not being able to predict this backlash was going to happen.

Not sure why it would be. It's a platformer. It's not like its budget was very high. It's price is right where it should be based on that. They didn't look to price gouge the consumer like many AAA publishers do and over price their product, and they are getting positive recognition for that. The game is also awesome and deserves support.

It's also crazy how these smaller teams, with less people, are able to achieve something that a lot of games which ha...

Good!

Unlike recent games like MGS3 Remake (over charging for a short and existing game. Deserves to be pirated), this game should be supported, especially given its price point.

Teams like these deserve to be supported, especially with the effort and passion that has been put into the game and with the price point its at.

It's great to see even the pirating community deciding to support a developer when they deserve it.

Exactly!
Which is why it's going to fail. You think the casuals are going to buy this? No. And for those who have a PC, or PS5 or Series X, why would you want to buy this when you can get a superior experience on those other devices? So what audience is left for the ROG Ally, especially at this price? A very small one.

It's a ripoff.
It cost more than a PS5 Pro, for what, just because its portable? Also less powerful.
Outside of certain particular game types, no idea why anyone would want to ruin a gaming experience by playing on such a small screen.

Handheld is great for casual gamers, look at the Switch 2.
I don't see casuals buying this either.
This is a failure before release.

I wonder if ex Ubisoft employees put “worked on Assassins Creed” on their resume or not, as it would give an automatic red flag to avoid hiring them.

*facepalm*
Stop wanting to be a Switch. Leave that for the casuals.
Another thing, how is this PS6 handheld going to work? Is it going to be like a Xbox Series S? Because we know how well that turned out, or is it going to be completely separate from the standard PS6 console?

Absolutely not. I purchase the majority of my games. I just don't support games which are overpriced for what you are getting or more importantly, no effort to ensure it is polished.

I would actually feel guilty if I pirated a game like Clair Obscur. Only reason I bring that up is you can see the effort and passion that was put into it. Funny enough, that was also using UE5 engine.

The reason this continues is because people keep supporting it by buying the game anyway.
I pirated the game myself, simply because the game should not be full price for a game that already exists, plus the game length, but regardless, do not support this.

Do not support companies that can't be bothered to polish their game. Either pirate it, or don't buy it on day one, and wait for a cheap sale.

If people stop supporting this practice, t...

It’s pathetic that people fall for these graphical gimmicks. Just goes to show how gullible and weak minded people are that are easily convinced by tricks and marketing.

Does the game look better with ray tracing? Yes. Does it make a difference? No.

How about focus on things that do make a difference, like improvement to AI and how they behave in games and more innovative gameplay mechanics.

Part of the reason why game development has b...
