I think they said "we want you to have the same Guardian you started this journey with, across multiple titles" or something along those lines.
Also, I personally do think that Destiny is reshaping the FPS genre.

I am honestly expecting it to get to the final day and Bungie says "Hey guys, we are extending the Beta for another day", just like they did with the Alpha.

I think the biggest difference is the resolution. Destiny would look pretty great on a smaller tv screen on the PS3.

PS4 is selling 30% more units than Xbox One.
And that has been a similar trend for a long time now.
Honestly, July is going to be a much more accurate indication of the sales trend.
June was always going to see a sales spike from all the people who were waiting for a Kinectless Xbox One. Those inflated numbers will see a gradual decline once again leading up to the end of the year.
