Depends. If the media is spreading prejudiced ideas about GG, it isn't going to be entirely in the favor of it. I think there is indeed such a thing as bad publicity.
This all kind of makes me wish something other than the Zoe Quinn thing started GamerGate. I mean, I'm sure many of us have wanted the gaming journalism to clean up its act quite a while prior to this whole thing. Right? I think a less touchy starting point would have given GamerGate a much easier time.
But since the Quinn case started it, now all efforts are going to be misinterpreted and misconstrued as an attack on women by whackjob feminists and SJWs right off the bat...
They aleady had a massively successful Kickstarter camapign. All this extra crowdfunding is just greedy and redundant.
Competitive Smash is kinda boring, if you ask me. It's just a ton of dodging and smash/special attacks that miss half the time.
So far it sounds like pretty bad value.
It's hit-and-miss. Some of their games deliver, some don't.
Looking forward to this. Shantae is a series I've enjoyed and I really want to see it grow. WayForward has self-funded these games so far (other than Half-Genie Hero) and it's obvious they really care about the franchise.
And plenty of people found it fun and it created a lasting community of MP players.
They obviously just can't say anything about it. No matter their opinion on it, they can't step on the toes of the public dialogue with any official actions or EA.
I really hate how EA is taking over more and more studios, and these studios quickly go on a decline after the merge with mainstream pandering, cheap design models like F2P, and rushed development cycles; they go off the deep end immediately if not after their first EA-published game. EA and Activision real...
"The game's bland and mundane backdrops..."
Huh? The backgrounds in the game are very well done. All the color and water really make the environments stand out and the art design is fantastic.
"Nathan Drake looks older now than he did before."
Older people look older. Who knew?
This is too extreme. Gamasutra is still one of the few useful and quality gaming publications out there, so why punish the entire site for an article by one writer? Don't we want more sites like Gamasutra that involve actual industry news and journalism? They've published many informative and insightful pieces, unlike the vast majority of the gaming media.
Gamasutra also published a community rebuttal piece over Alexander's anti-gamer article the very next day. I ...
It's not lazy, it's a design decision and keeping the system the same would have been easier. Whether or not it works out well remains to be seen, but the game is designed with it in mind. In the best scenario, this new system makes more party configurations viable in heavy combat, while still retaining the challenge.
Origins let you spam potions easily as well as use conventional healing. Potions had low individual cooldowns and you could stock up dozens and differen...
It makes potions a valuable resource that you need to conserve as much as possible in your ventures, by playing better. Health doesn't regenerate anymore, so players need to be more mindful about how they consume resources.
There are alternative methods to healing, although they're not straightforward spells and are trickier to perform.
You could just stock up on potions and rely on them in Origins and DA2, which was easy; mages weren't necessary for healing and were generally very offense-oriented.
I think this change sounds fine, because it rewards better playing with longer ventures into the open-world and makes the game more challenging, as long as it's balanced well.
For anyone calling this a censorship issue: Kamiya said he likes her breasts smaller and that's why this tweak exists.
Hopefully this info is true. Sounds interesting.
FFXIII did get better at Gran Pulse... slightly and only for a couple hours.
"I will dissect the same sensationalism, propaganda, clickbait, and hidden agendas that some writers are known for."
You mean half of the articles posted on N4G? :P
I only wish gaming journalism involved actual journalism. Gameinformer has its game and interview exclusives and Gamasutra has its interviews, industry reports, and detailed analyses. Why can't more media outlets be more like that? A lot of the stuff here on N4G seems to be regurgita...

Other than that, it's fine.
