Its a good old medieval game with demons, souls, dragons, some huge monsters and colossuses. It's similar to Donkey Kong. Why is a gorilla called Donkey Kong throwing barrels at a small plumber trying to rescue a princess? Who cares if it is has a story, it's hard as hell and fun as hell. (PS I may have mixed some of that up but I think it's right)
God of War III will be the best of the series and blow your mind in terms of action, innovation, and gore!

They didn't stock up like they did for OSTD or w/e it's called. There was a stand with like 50 of those sitting there and I picked up the last copy of Demon's Souls. I was surprised it came with an art book and a soundtrack CD. Great purchase.

I am not a RPG gamer. I play nothing but shooters and GoW it seems like, and this game will get you hooked after you put in some good time to get the hang of it and the experience. Because you can die so easily, and the consequences are so great, it makes everything seem like it's a life or death situation. And when you get to something big or a boss, your adrenaline kicks in and you feel like your life in the game is your own.
Just bought the game and played last night for like... hmmm... 4 hours. Parrying and dodging are key.
Reminds me a little of Shadow of the Colossus.

I'm debating using my birthday money I just got for Demon Souls or wait and save it for Uncharted 2 or MW2. (GOWIII is first day purchase for me)
I know UC2 will be outstanding, but I haven't played the original UC and I can't see myself playing that often due to my profession. It it seems like I have nothing but FPS and SOCOM for PS3 (along with some good PSN titles) so MW2 would be another addition to the never ending genre in my collection.

Will get old after a month in my opinion. The same "kill as many people before you die" kind of gameplay. Not for me.

A simple idea becomes a brilliant game.
there are no check points or endings. There is no place in the game that feels like,"Ok, this a good stopping point." Even if you defeat a demon, you are still alive (not in soul form) and can summon people and not to mention you just probably upgraded and got something new to try out. Addictive.
