I'd rather play Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate with decent, respectful human beings, than CoD with the dregs of gaming.
That's not a direct slur by the way, just facts.
Surely it's Square Enix as a company that drives how a business model will work though, not the leads of the project.
I'm very wary of any company that has history of GaaS.
It doesn't matter about the updates.
It was criticised because it was released as a shell of it's promises. It deserved the negative press, especially as a full retail priced indie game.
So what happens to the small organisations like Special Effect who have been leading the way in this field?
I'm all for it, but what about the real heroes that aren't doing it for maximum profit?
Sometimes, but innovation is what's needed, not copying someone else's idea over and over until every game that can have battle royal has one... Good or trash.
Flogging a dead horse comes to mind.
Look at the naive downvoters... It's only you to blame.
It will be the fad that ruins the generation, like CoD destroyed last gen's diversity of genres and decent single player campaigns in a swap for tagged in multiplayer.
Luckily, a few decent publishers with great ideas are left... An island in an ever increasing sea of pay your way bullshit.
How much of it will be season pass? Will we have to watch a Disney movie to follow the plot? Will we be getting a pointless, tagged on multiplayer to generate more income?
This is Square Enix.
Polygon: 3/10 for unrelated to game alleged goings on amongst the dev team.

That's the new scoring system.
My Mum still has the top Tetris score on my Gameboy cart.
Away and wipe your chin.
Jesus, a sniff of news and everybody is stupidly salivating again.
I was a huge fan of Battlefield, but for God sake, wait for reviews and news if it's going to be another Battlefront II before you start unzipping your wallets this time.
It is still EA.
How much is MS paying you for the propaganda?
Do you think they have paid certain media outlets to push their agenda?
It's funny how a lot of supposedly credible sites are publishing articles about single player games being dead, and the numerous posts this week about how Sony have failed fans at E3.
Starting to really believe that Microsoft are using money for propaganda and damage control at this point. Surely, legitimate sites don't actively believe this tripe after all the years of disapp...
Indeed. I've been saying this about the subject since it came up years ago. The push for all the shady practices in modern gaming came from a few companies trying to stranglehold the market, and it has got worse the more they leak money and are exposed for wronging customers.
Microsoft, EA, Warner Brothers Interactive, Activision and Take Two all have a hand in trying to steer the industry into their hands... Fortunately, we're not all dumb as a rock.
Delete please
The media are pushing this idea, but I doubt it. If it's pushed like mobile phones are, people will get sick of shelling out for consoles, as we have the added price of games to stack on top of the initial cost, whereas phones don't.
This gen was about moving to 4K with the console upgrades... Next gen probably won't be having an upgrade for 8K, as a minority have only just switched to 4K.
Stop listening to the media, who somehow see benefit i...
Or buy a PS4 and enjoy great Japanese games?
Square Enix will likely go ahead with an Xbox exclusive, as they like selling games in parts to customers who don't know any better. Final Fantasy XV is practically GaaS with it's split story content and adding to the game periodically via season passes because the game just wasn't/isn't finished.
The Scottish Highlands? Canada? Alaska? Norway? Let's be honest, Far Cry only works if it's a remote setting.
What the hell was that trailer?
No Ghouls and Ghosts? Get outta here.
