I'm not anti or pro about much. Individuality is a choice. I am for equality though, and nobody seems to be aiming for that these days. It's destroy the past and spread more hate or nothing, and it's from extremists from both sides.

Maybe not. There's no incentive to upgrade a 4K console to another 4K console next generation. I can't see Sony or Microsoft risking trying to push for a much more expensive 8K machine that virtually no one will have the hardware for.
If the consoles release with 30fps standard CPU power and the upgrade is a more powerful 60fps capable machine, maybe... But we're all expecting that for the base hardware.

How about a £5 cross platform fee, that allows you to play the game on another system. Say I buy the PS version and want to play it on Switch, a customer code and a small charge to carry my game over to it nets Nintendo a small cut per copy shared.
The thing is, they'll probably release a trilogy late next year, and it'll be the Megaman Collection fiasco all over again.
If publishers and devs want crossplay, I want to be able to play a copy of their game on all platforms with one purchase.
If I buy Fallout on PS, I want to be able to play it anywhere. Handheld on my Switch, on my PC, on my lad's Xbox. I am buying your game, why do we need to buy multiple copies to play with friends on separate consoles?

Rare consoles, maybe, but all the stuff that comes with collector editions of games, I'm not so sure.
Anything mass manufactured is bound to be pointless as a collector.
I also honestly can't see many people paying a few hundred for an Assassin's Creed statue, as an example, in thirty years time.
If you're a collector for yourself, no problem. If it's an investment, I just don't see it.
