Super Mario Galaxy 2 surely "bettered" Mario 64. I think you're looking back at Mario 64 with nostalgia-colored glasses. It was a great game, for sure, but I don't know why you're underrating SMG2. It was phenomenal.

The Wii was "sold out." The Wii U is not. You can get a Wii U on ebay for *almost* retail without much of a mark up. That's all the indicator you need.
Question: Why is the ONLY playable kiosk demo a game that isn't out yet? (Rayman) Has anyone come across another demo unit with something else playable?
You can find Wii U's just about everywhere right now in America. Gamestop has cleared waiting lists. Best Buy was stacked high.

No...the best thing to do if you're just getting into wii gaming would be to buy a wii on the cheap. Then you can play through wii classics over many months. By the time you're done with that, we'll probably have more info on next he Sony and MS systems and you can make a better informed decision on whether or not to drop hundreds of dollars on a system that doesn't have many games right now.
