Maybe Sony is just plain lying about the price-cut issue. It is not exactly good to hint at a price cut well before it happens...because then you'll have NO sales until the cut occurs. But maybe, just maybe, Sony is just playing dumb and has an ace up their sleeve.

Yes the vita needs saving. Horrible sales = decreased support from studios= worse sales until a console is abandoned. Do your history children. It's not impossible. It happens.
Of course I didn't buy a vita for call of duty...but im just trying to hang on for ANYTHING that's ACTUALLY worth playing and keeping the system. I bought a Vita at launch based on potential. And it hasn't delivered. Uncharted was quite boring and not up to par with the other games. Resistance sucked. MLB the show was ok. The game i enjoyed the most was probably mutant blob whatever. MGS collection is decent...if i hadn't already played those games multiple times each.
I'm almost relieved that COD Vita is a pile of crap. Now I can feel better about trading in my Vita toward a 3ds XL. While clearly Vita is a superior piece of tech, its just boring the hell outta me. Being able to play ps1 games isn't exactly that killer feature...and besides the PSP could do that. Cross play / controller stuff has great potential but so far it's almost all talk.
This is not a preview, it is an impression of the trailer. And all credibility is lost when Nihilistic is referred to as "capable hands." Did they even play resistance?

For a company that's just hemorrhaging money, "next generation" is no guarantee. If Sony was doing well in their other divisions it'd be one thing, but Sony as a company might not be able to afford it. They might have to consolidate their business and focus on just a few areas. And who knows if gaming will get the vote.
I've been a Sony gamer since 1997. I've owned a PSX, PS2, PS3, PSP, and now a Vita. I love Sony and the new IPs they're always bringing. BUT, it's clear they've bungled the Vita launch as well as the ps3-ps4 transition (no Ps3 momentum...but no PS4 here yet). At this point in the PS2's life, the AAA games were flowing like water. Now....not so much.
For a company losing money in multiple divisions, this is a death knell. Playstation gaming will disappe...

Here's the difference: When 3DS was lacking features, it didn't yet have a direct competitor. Vita doesn't have that luxury. Every day that goes by with lacking features and games, Vita loses even more steam.
I have both systems...got the both at their respective launches. I went through the doldrums with both. I never owned a DS, so I had a huge DS library to get me through the 3DS' slow start.
