Sounds to me like Sony wants to stab other hardware manufacturers by buying the better blu-ray player (PS3) that play blu-ray movies better (Quality), play more movies and is cheaper.

the one with the i's is another game, the one with the 1's is another game. Square ran out of roman numbers so they had to start with the arabic ones. Linux? why the heck would I want to brick my XBox 360 to run linux? I used/managed/run linux a few times when I used to work writing programs for a voip(sip) company. most of the programs run on linux since they don't want to pay license fees, etc. I used my xbox 360 for entertainment; why would I wan't to do work on my 360? even installing and probably bricking your xbox 360 is enough to not even try this crap.
Most people predict the PS3 will dominate for the following reasons:
1) PS2 did very well.
2) PS3 is made by Sony.
3) Brand recognition.
Now they ignored some of these facts:
1) Most of the games that placed the Playstation brand are 3rd party games and are now cross-platform and/or will be cross-platform.
2) Nintendo is doing great this time arround when it comes to 3rd party support.
3) Microsoft's presence in the industry it's strong...

Who care we all know that the wii is a piece of crap in terms of hardware that happends to have an innovative way to interact with games and the potential of having great games. Keyword: Great Games. If I want power/graphics/HD xbox 360 for non-conventional fun than the wii. The wii it's not a 360/PS3 replacement but a complementary system.
