I think both Sony and Microsoft made a mistake by making such a big deal out of HD. They made it seem their consoles were great if you get an HD TV. It's true that high res it's obviously notisable, but these consoles bring a lot more than res, they have online play, lots more poligons, better physics, lots of extras like marketplace, demo download, etc. I heard many times people saying, I'll wait until I guess an HD TV before buying a 360 or PS3. I think it would help better if people mail a check to these research centers and it would help more. But it's also great to have alternative ways to help find cure. It seems that there is no way to go around the fact that the very same developers of resistance are admiting that Gears look better. Period. People complain about wifi and to be honest with you I used to think the same. I have wifi in my house, but after comparing the speed and lag issues and unstable connection when playing games and downloading movies and demos I dropped a hardline from my router to my living room. Trojan horse or not it's working for Sony when it comes to pushing blu-ray. Also, it's obvious that they didn't think about this. It's no coincidense that Sony is willing to take loses and risk adding it to the PS3 if they didn't think it was going to help them win the format war. Space is not everything. Marketting has a lot to do with how much content is shipped in a disk. I know people will disagree with me when it comes to this. First of all let's not forget that movies are being made for 720p and 1080p and that's why the extra space is needed. Ofcourse with new compression technology supported by blu-ray and HD DVD they managed to use even less space.

If Sony releases a new SKU, will you feel betrayed by Sony? It will be interesting considering how wild SOny fanboys are going over the new Xbox 360 SKU. If this happends and I would be a PS3 owner I wouldn't be pissed since when it comes to gaming all SKU do the same. We all tend to make a big deal out of things like this just to piss the people on the other side of the camp, to technically as gamers it does not even make a difference.

Call this a coincidense or not... But I wouldnt trust an online survey for this kind of things. If this would be done against the PS3 I am sure it would have the same results. Fanboys would be more than happy to spend their valuable time responding negatively even if they never owned the console. If the failure of the console would be 59%, I guarantee you consumer affair would force a major recall.
