I don't have Vista (Well, I got it for free. But never installed it).
Besides, think about this. If you are interested in DirectX 10 you will still have to buy a Video Card that supports it... And if you do, that means you have to have a motherboard that supports it (PCI Express) which means you will have to change the ram and probably the CPU... in other words you need a new PC.
I am not getting Vista until I get myself a new PC... U...

Buy a Mac.
Buy a Laptop with linux.
Built your own and intall linux.
Format the drive and install linux.

That would encourage people to buy windows. And that's NOT what Sony is being trying to do. Remember Sony is marketting the PS3 as a PC (as matter of fact as a super computer). If anything they would try to do cross-platform with linux instead.
wow, these PR agents are great. They do know how to make the PS3 look like is selling like hot cakes. If is not that the PS3 is being used for medical purposes, that 8 of them a put together to form a super computer or some random article like this one idicating that the PS3 is selling like well... where are the charts to support this. Both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 versions of Guitar Hero II feature the same core 64 playable songs. Hardly a rip off. This is extra content that PS2 gamers will never get. Magic of xbox live.

Use your logic. What's the 360 install base and we are yet to see a release date on Halo 3. Ofcourse no one is saying Microsoft will not make lots of money with Halo 3. The 360 install base will sky rocket when halo 3 is released.

Some games are made for the PC and the 360. but to be allowed on the 360 they must have the certification process which means they must integrate with xbox live and have features such as achivements that the PC version (non-game for windows) has.
It's similar to multiplatform games made for the 360 and the PS3. For the PS3 they may not have any online component, achivements, game invites, leard board, etc. Why? cause Sony certificating process does not ...
