Every time I go to one of these boring, kiss our *** things (Sony or Microsoft, Nintendo's aren't too bad) we get the "We are the greatest, and you will worship us in exchange for a badge and t-shirt" crap!
The only good bits are when the demo consoles don't work on stage (PS2) and they don't know what to do. :)
I realise what Sony are trying to say (their Cell processor is powerful) but please dont use cancer as a marketing tool for a games console.
A drop for Sony, a gain for Microsoft, a new start for Nintendo.
More hardware choices for developers, no runaway leader = all good stuff for us (with new innovative games and great choice).
Are any of these manufacturing components in the PS3, if so Sony should give up now.
Why don't they just launch next Spring with a decent amount of consoles?
I just played for an hour online in 8 player races and it runs beautifully, no lag and great draw distance.
I was lucky enough to try it at Atari last month and the full game is fantastic, huge environments, lots of solo player missions & now I've seen the actual demo release runs as well online as it did at Atari's HQ it's a sure fire purchase.
Is that what we've been pinning our hopes and $600 dollars to ?
Are all blooray games going to be like this 25% playing and 75% watching pretty pictures?
This is great news, I play against my mates on Xbox Live pretty much every day. Pro Evo was the only question mark we had regarding Sony's overpriced console.
This has answered our questions nicely, see you all on Live guys. :)
I love the look of that Forceback 360 wheel, really sturdy and well made. Got to get that for Forza & Test Drive.
....of CGI cutscenes and loading times.
You assume a lot, we don't want it, it's too expensive, it's just a games machine.
It's not worth it and in a years time the launch hardware problems will be fixed and it will be cheaper.
If it still isn't cheaper in a year I'll wait two years and so on, in the mean time there's planty of great alternatives. :)
Blank write once disks for $50, what a load of rubbish. Sony needs to seriously think about its strategy with the superior HD DVD taking charge and getting the far better quality reviews.
Bluray = Dont bother! (I know everyone out there already knows that, but there may still be some thicko's who haven't read the reviews). :)
Basically, gamers who are now spending more time on their console than before, are finding that they are one of the unlucky few who have a problem console.
The same happened when Oblivion launched, there's no game problem, it's just a lot more gamers are now playing and that means some will finally find out that their Xbox360's had a problem all along.
I myself have had mine since launch and not had a single problem (I play it A LOT!), and my Dead Rising arrives in a few weeks....
I think we all know its had its day, you've just got to look around the untouched shelves to see that. Mines gathering dust & I've got my DS Lite now so the PSP is a doorstop, nevermind you live & learn.
If I had to go for one I would pick HD DVD for obvious reasons (better pricing, better quality & better reviews) but to be honest I have a great DVD collection and probably won't be changing for years.
Almost everyone I know has a Nintendo DS and mine is on it's way (I don't know anyone with a psp) and should be here by next week. The more games the better :)
HD DVD has the better quality and you have no choice but to get Bluray with sony's machine.
So with PS3 you're left with an inferior quality HD option and a drive that bumps the price up on the console (whether you wanted it or not)
Forget the consoles for a minute and look at it purely from a movie buffs point of view.
We all want the best quality, and that is HD DVD, don't be silly and waste your money, look:

I would ring the university and ask how it works but I wouldn't be able to ask for the guys name:)
"Professor V. Renugopalakrishnan" ?
